Dear PD,
If you can wait and feel that you can perform better than your last attempt in CAT then I would suggest you should start working so that you can show some work experience. Interviewers don't like students who take gap year just to prepare for CAT entrance exam since CAT is an aptitude test, not an exam which requires the learning of facts and figures, unlike JEE or NEET and then you should write CAT exam in the coming November. No offence to these colleges but you will spend around 12-15 lakh and you won't get the placement of more than 6 lakh per annum from this college provided if you are in top 10% of your batch. A graduate who studied from a mediocre college earns between 3-4 lakh per annum so do you feel that a jump from 4 lakh to 6 lakh per annum with so much of investment is worth it? If you feel that you can work harder than before and can score percentile of at least 88 then only take a drop. If you don't feel that you can get a percentile around 90 in CAT then don't take a drop because even if you start with a low package, if you work hard then you can get better.

Hi Anjali,
First, you should build a lot of self-control and self-discipline to be able to study 12 hours every day.
Then, you should go through the complete syllabus of JEE from their official site and see how many questions are appearing from each topic.
Then, make a schedule or a time table and follow it regularly.
Find your strong topics and keep strengthening them by regular online mock tests and by solving previous year papers.
Don't dig deep in your weak topics.
Start with Physics, then Maths and at last Chemistry.
Hope this helps you.
All the best!!!

Hi Anand,
Since you haven't specified your rank i shall reply assuming UR category.
Well according to your score you might have a chance in one of the colleges in your state under the 85% quota.
I am listing below some colleges where the cutoffs last year was close to 533 or 534. :-
1)Anugrah narayan magadh medical college-533
2)Darbhanga medical college-533
3)Government medical college, bettiah-534
4)Shri Krishna medical college-533
5)Vardhaman institute of medical sciences-534
These are some colleges where you might have a chance.
You can also apply for the colleges in karnataka, UP, AP etc.
You can also have a better scope if u try for deemed universities.
However these are only assumptions on the basis of cutoffs and closing ranks of last year.
Every year the cutoffs change depending on several factors like no of candidates, difficulty level of questions etc.
I am attaching below a link you can check out to predict further possible colleges:

Dear Pulluri,
I am very sorry to hear this unfortunate news and certainly, it is very bad news. As your friend is going to take EMCET exam and as per your knowledge this exam is also a medical entrance exam at the state level (Telangana and Andhra Pradesh). So if your friend will score well and get a good rank she will certainly get a good government college for sure. So tell her to study well with focus.
I hope this answer will give you a positive hope.
Good luck
