IIM Mumbai (NITIE) Admission Process

IIM Mumbai MBA admission is based on the CAT exam, followed by group discussion and personal interview.
IIM Mumbai Entrance Exam: CAT/GRE/GMAT/GATE/UGC-JRF.
The last date to register for the CAT exam 2025 is September 13, 2025.
IIM Mumbai application fee for general category students is Rs 2000 and for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates is Rs 1000.

Indian Institute of Management Mumbai admissions are offered to MBA, MBA Sustainability Management, MBA Operation and Supply Chain Management and PGDM Executive Visionary Leaders for Manufacturing through CAT. Based on the scores in these entrance exams, the cutoff of IIM Mumbai will be released.

Those who clear the cutoff will be shortlisted for further rounds of PI to be conducted for the final IIM Mumbai admissions 2025. For IIM Mumbai admissions to the Fellow Programme in Management, candidates can apply through CAT/GRE/GMAT/GATE/UGC-JRF.

A Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks (45% for candidates from reserved categories), along with CAT eligibility, is required for admission to the MBA programme at IIM Mumbai.

How can I Apply for IIM Mumbai?

Visit the official website, nitie.ac.in, and click on the admission portal.
Register yourself by entering your category, registration number, email address, full name, date of birth, and password. You will receive a confirmation email with your login credentials.
Login with your email address and password and fill out the application form with your personal, academic, and professional details.
Upload the scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and relevant documents as per the specifications given in the application form.
Pay the application fee of Rs. 2000 (Rs. 1000 for SC/ST/PD candidates) through online mode using a credit card, debit card, or net banking.
Submit the application form and take a printout for future reference.

The selection process for NITIE admission 2025 for the MBA programme consists of the following stages:

The candidates will be shortlisted based on their CAT scores and other parameters like reservation category, gender diversity and many more.
Candidates for PGDM are selected based on aptitude test and interview.
The shortlisted candidates will be called to the IIM Mumbai campus for personal interviews. The PI process will evaluate the candidates’ communication skills, analytical abilities, leadership potential, and general awareness.
The final selection will be based on academic performance and work experience.

NITIE Mumbai (now, Indian Institute of Management, Mumbai) offers a two-year, full-time MBA programme at the postgraduate level. As you have obtained 92.78 percentile in the CAT and belong to the NC-OBC category, you might get a Personal Interview shortlist from IIM Mumbai . CAT percentile is not the only criteria to get a PI shortlist as candidates are shortlisted based on CAT score, and other parameters such as reservation category, gender diversity, etc.

For the NC-OBC category candidates, the minimum requirements on both section-wise and overall percentiles in the CAT is mentioned below:

Overall: Greater than or equal to 75
VARC: Greater than or equal to 70
DILR: Greater than or equal to 65
QA: Greater than or equal to 65

Appropriate weightage in overall CAT score and sectional cut-offs shall be considered for gender diversity. The actual cut-offs may be much higher than the abovementioned minimum percentiles as it will depend upon the number of factors.

Post the PI, composite score will be calculated based on various factors such as Class 10, Class 12, Bachelor’s degree marks, work experience, CAT percentile, Personal Interview, Gender Diversity and final merit list will be prepared. If you get a good score at all the stages, then you will get admission to IIM Mumbai (formerly, NITIE).

It is difficult to predict because you have not mentioned your Rank and without rank it will be tough to predict your chances of getting seat in Colleges.

GATE 2021 Cut-off for XE:

Highest score : 1000/ 1 000

Highest Marks : 90.33/100

Cut-off score : 37/100

But cut-offs varies from year to year and depends on many factors.
