Balagarh Bijoy Krishna Mahavidyalaya, Hooghly Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

Balagarh Bijoy Krishna Mahavidyalaya is quite a big college for various undergraduate courses offering admission through an inclusive admission policy at Hooghly in West Bengal. The time for the commencement of the admission process is between August and September for the academic year.  Typically, to be eligible for admission into the undergraduate courses, it is necessary to have completed the 10+2 from a recognized board. However, there are differences in some subject specifications that vary with the choice of study. The college offers Arts, Science, and Commerce streams with a great variety for many academic interests.

Admission Process

The admission process followed in Balagarh Bijoy Krishna Mahavidyalaya is as follows:

1. Notification Regarding Admission: The college publishes the admission notification in the college website as well as in the local newspapers.

2. Online Application: Candidates will be required to fill up the online application form made available in the college website.

3. Document Submission: The scanned copies of all required documents must be uploaded by the applicants. These include:

• Mark sheet 10th and 12th standards
• Passport size photograph
• Signature
• Caste certificate (if applicable), and
• Any other certificates specified by the college

4. Application Fee: The candidates need to pay the application fee prescribed for the application process online.

5. Merit List Publication: The college will publish the merit list for each program on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination with respect to reservation policy.

6. Document Verification: The candidates will be shortlisted and called for the verification of their original documents.

Degree Wise Admission Process

BA Programs: This includes many programs into which the admission covers BA in Bengali, English, History, Education, Philosophy, Political Science, Geography, Sanskrit, and Physical Education and Sports. It considers the merit of admission on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination 10+2. Hence, it has good capacity for admission into BA programs with maximum Bengali Major being at 327 seats.

B.Com Programs: The B.Com programs are B.Com in Accounting and Management with 290 seats at the college. The admission will be done on similar grounds as for B.A.: based on merit, marks obtained in the qualifying examination, and subjects mainly relevant to accountancy and mathematics.

B.Sc Programs: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are the subjects included in the B.Sc courses being offered. B.Sc admission is based on the marks gained in science subjects in the 10+2 examination.

Research-oriented Programs: Among its research programs, BA Bengali, English, History, Geography, Political Science, Sanskrit, Physical Education and Sports, B.Com Accounting and Management, and B.Sc Mathematics and Chemistry could be included, while some others could be applied as further criteria for admission.
