Degree wise Admission Process
B.A. Courses: Barasat Government College provides B.A. Honours courses in Bengali, English, History, Political Science, Philosophy, Geography, Economics, and Sanskrit. Admission to these courses is conducted on the basis of marks secured in the 10+2 examination, considering the respective subject marks. The admissions are variable depending on courses, from 69 to 117 seats.
B.Sc. Courses: B.Sc. Honours courses in Mathematics, Physics, Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry are offered by the college. Admissions to these courses are also given on the basis of 10+2 marks, with special focus on science subject marks. Intake capacity is between 62 and 89 seats, depending on courses.
M.A. Courses: In postgraduate classes, the college offers M.A. in Bengali. Marks obtained in the related bachelor's degree are considered while admitting in the course. Intake for the course M.A. Bengali is 47 seats.
M.Sc. Courses: M.Sc. courses in Botany, Zoology, and Physics are provided by Barasat Government College. Admission to these courses is on the basis of marks scored in the respective bachelor's course. The intake capacity for various M.Sc. courses is 36-40 seats.
I have studied there M.Sc in zoology, as it's a fully government college so there are many facilities like good classrooms, great laboratory. Teachers are so knowledgeable. The curriculum is updated which made me strong in my subject.
I did my graduation in this college. We had highly qualified professors. I was a student of English (hons), and our professors taught us very well. They are very helpful. They were always there whenever we needed them.
This college is famous for its academic records and the teaching quality . I'm studying B.Sc Physics in this college . There are almost all departments are available for B.A , B.Sc and M.A , M.Sc . All the facilities are really very good .
