BIMTECH or Birla Institute of Management and Technology conducts two rounds of PI-WAT rounds. One is conducted before the CAT and XAT exams which are generally called as the profile based shortlisting process. This process will look into your academic achievements, extra-curricular achievements and work experience if you have worked in any relevant fields. After this round, the candidates who are shortlisted need to get the requisite cutoff percentile in the exams through which they are applying for in the institute, after which they can get themselves fully admitted into the course.

Another round that BIMTECH conducts is the normal score based shortlisting process which happens generally in the month of February after the exams have declared their results. In the application form, the applicant has to explicitly mention the correct percentile in the exams which BIMTECH considers legible. If they secure that percentile or anything greater than that, they will be called for Written Ability Test and Personal Interviews. In the WAT, an essay would be given and the applicants will have to write it within the time specified and there would also be word limit. After that Personal Interviews are conducted.

Now coming to the question, if you do not attend the WAT-PI process of BIMTECH for the profile-based shortlisting process, you do not have to worry. If you clear their exam cutoff with the necessary percentile, you will be called for the WAT-PI process in the score based shortlisting.

Hello Mishra

For the most part, B-Schools start their choice procedure after the revelation of CAT result. Thus, to abstain from covering in the choice procedure and give simplicity to up-and-comers, BIMTECH led a right on time round of choice procedure on December 17, 2018, and December 18, 2018. The up-and-comers were welcomed for right on time round procedure dependent on their profile as made a decision from their:

Consistency and great past scholarly execution

Pertinent work involvement (assuming any) that carries an incentive to homeroom learning.

Last date for application was November 30, 2018. BIMTECH choice procedure incorporates 3 phases. The phases for determination for confirmation at BIMTECH include:

Stage 1:- Every understudy ought to show up for CAT/XAT/MAT/GMAT/CMAT. The score of these tests will be considered for induction into BIMTECH.

Stage 2:- up-and-comers need to verify an application structure. The application structure is accessible on the official site of BIMTECH. The application structure is for rs 1500/ - . Competitors need to fill in their subtleties appropriately and their passageway test percentiles (CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT) in the online application structure for arrangement of the last choice rundown dependent on legitimacy.

After you have filled in your application structure, you'll get a require the meeting cording to your score (of the test through which you are applying.)

Hello Kshitiz,

Let us consider a few factors on the basis of which you can take decision:

1. ROI: Program fees for both IBS and BIMTECH are around 10-12 lakhs. And placements are also same. So as a matter of fact the ROI factor should not really concern you.

2. Interest: In BIMTECH you are getting IBM that is Insurance Business Management. If you are really intersted in this field then go for it. Don't think of other factors. But if you are still not sure about your interest then I'll suggest go for IBS because then you'll have one year to think about your interest. You choose majors and minors in second year of MBA.

3. Placements: Although placement stats are almost the same for both the institutes, but IBS is catering almost three times the students of BIMTECH and still maintaining it's record. Also due to more diversity in students you'll get a great exposure in IBS as compared to BIMTECH.

No Doubt SDMIMD, Mysore is better than IMT, Nagpur and BIMTECH, Noida (IB) No further discussion on it

  1. Placement : Year on Year 100% Placement at SDMIMD with average package of 7.14 lac/annum which is better than IMT, Nagpur and Bimtech (IB) IMT, Nagpur and Bimtech (IB) has never achieved 100% placement in past 4–5 Years.
  2. Intake : Less Batch Size at SDMIMD hence more opportunity during campus placement. IMT, Nagpur and Bimtech Noida have around 3 times of batch size than SDMIMD
  3. Infrastructure : SDMIMD has one of the best campus to visit. It has won many awards for its beautiful residential campus.
  4. Accreditation : SDMIMD IS credited by CRISIL - A**, ACBSP Accredited, Brickwork - A**, EFMD, AACSB, EPAS (European Foundation for Management Development) Accredited B – Schools in India.
  5. International Student Exchange Program : SDMIMD in order to provide exposure to the International business scenario, the Institute has student exchange programs with 15 Institutes across the globe.
  6. Faculty : SDMIMD is having very experience faculty, but I am not aware about the IMT, Nagpur and Bimtech (IB) Faculty. The friendly attitude of the professors at SDMIMD and their willingness to always offer a helping hand has made you feel a part of the SDMIMD family. Even Student to faculty ratio is better at SDMIMD.
  7. Location : BIMTECH Noida has a edge over SDMIMD and IMT Nagpur in terms of location advantage. But at the end Exposure and Placement matter.
