College of Agriculture-Bhanashiware is one of the premier agricultural colleges. The admission into the college is entirely on merit and conducted by the Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research (MCAER), Pune.
The process of admissions takes place as per the academic year declared by the MCAER, Pune. The prospective students are also advised to check the official notifications regularly or to contact the admission office for specifics regarding application submission, merit list announcement dates, and admission confirmation.
Eligibility for the B.Sc. Program in Agriculture Crop Management will primarily be based on 10+2 or its equivalent qualifying examination with compulsory subjects as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics at the minimum level. Students will be selected based on marks in the qualifying examination and other restrictions set by MCAER, Pune. 80% of the seats will primarily be filled by a centralized admission process conducted by MCAER, Pune, while the remaining 20% will be filled through college management.
Application Process
The following are the steps in the admission procedure for B.Sc Agriculture in College of Agriculture, Bhanashiware:
1. The first thing is that the aspirant should check whether he/she is eligible for the B.Sc Agriculture course according to the academic requirements specified by MCAER, Pune.
2. Eligible candidates then have to apply through the centralized admission process conducted by MCAER, Pune against 80 percent of the seats. Usually, this will involve filling up an online application form on the MCAER platform.
3. Rest 20% of the seats under management quota, candidates required to apply directly to the College of Agriculture, Bhanashiware. For detailed procedure, candidates are advised to contact the Admission Office.
4. Candidates are required to submit all necessary documents as specified by MCAER, Pune and the college. These include:
i. 10th and 12th standard mark sheets
ii. School leaving certificate
iii. Domicile certificate (if applicable)
iv. Caste certificate (if applicable)
v. Any other documents as required by admission authorities
5. Mostly, admission is on the merit list prepared by MCAER, Pune taking mark of candidates in qualifying examination and any other criteria if that council set.
6. Shortlisted candidates would be informed of selection for admission during which document verification and fees payment in the specified time period would also be required.
Degree-wise Admission Process
B.Sc. Agriculture: The College of Agriculture, Bhanashiware offers a four-year full-time undergraduate degree in B.Sc. Agriculture. This undergraduate course has an approved annual intake of 60 students. Admission is through merit and weightages sanctioned by MCAER, Pune. As stated before, 80 percent of the seats are filled by MCAER, Pune, and the remaining 20 percent by the college management.
The B.Sc. Agriculture program aims to offer comprehensive knowledge and skills related to all aspects of agriculture. It aims at employment of graduates as farmers, agricultural entrepreneurs; industry professionals or researchers in the agriculture sector.
