College of Education, Nagaon Admission 2025: Dates, Application Form, Courses, Fees & Eligibility

The college offers direct admission in the College of Education, Nagaon, to select the best candidates with dedication for its educational programs. Admission under this scheme set up by the merit list is created as per Gauhati University and guidelines of the NCTE of India. 

Admission through the undergraduate program is obtained directly through the Entrance Examination conducted by Gauhati University, which assures the image of students entering the college because of shown aptitude and readiness for professional teaching. Prospective applicants should be aware that the admission procedure is usually dependent on the academic calendar of Gauhati University. These dates may change from year to year; generally, applications will be called in the months preceding the start of the new academic year.

Application Process

Application Process for B.Ed and M.E courses in the College of Education, Nagaon are as follows:

1. Entrance Examination : For B.Ed courses , the candidates shall have to appear for the Entrance Examination of the Gauhati University, while in case of M.Ed, either the entrance examination may be required or candidates may be evaluated in accordance with qualifying examination, depending on existing policy. 

2. Merit List: Based on performance in the entrance examination and/or qualifying examination marks, the merit list will be drawn by the university.

3. Application Submission: Applications should be sent by the shortlisted candidates to the College of Education, Nagaon. The application can either be collected from the office of the college or downloaded.

4. Document Verification: It has to provide various types of documentation for inspection, including

• 10th, 12th and undergraduate degree mark-sheets/certificates (entry B.Ed.);
• B.Ed. degree certificate and mark sheet (entry M.Ed.);
• Entrance examination scorecard;
• Valid ID proof;
• Passport-sized photographs;
• Any other document as directed by the college or university.

5. Counseling & Seat Allocation: Candidates qualifying will be called for counseling as well as allotment of seats done on merit basis depending on availability.

6. Fee Payment: After seat allotment, candidates will proceed to deposit the fee to secure admission.

7. Final Admission: The candidates will finally gain admission into any respective program after completing all the processes mentioned above.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education): The B.Ed. program at the College of Education, Nagaon is sanctioned for a capacity of 100. The admission in this program is strictly merit based via the list published by Gauhati University based on their Entrance Examination. Thus, this selection process is quite inconvenient and tends to accept only the ones with the best merit. For the B.Ed. course candidates with an undergraduate degree from a recognized university would qualify.

M.Ed. (Master of Education): In M.Ed, the program has been sanctioned for 50 seats and students are being presently admitted under a comprehensive admission system. Merit determines the selection, which is linked to the marks obtained in the qualifying examination (usually a B.Ed. degree) and/or the results from an entrance examination or any other selection process in force under the guidelines of the state government and Gauhati University. This multi-pronged procedure aims primarily at selecting candidates with the best academic history and real potential for advanced studies in education within the M.Ed. program.
