Dayanand Science College, Latur Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College Boys Hostel has 42 rooms and a capacity of 126. Students have access to all necessary facilities, a 24-hour water supply, power back-up, a reading room, etc. The hostel administration tries its best to give students a comfortable stay.

The College girls’ hostel, managed by the Society, has all 133 rooms. Out of these, 132 rooms are utilized for the hostelries, one room is utilized for the health center, and one is for the visitors. In all 400 girls, students can be accommodated in the hostel. These girl students from the same stream are accommodated in each room. The hostel provides the best facilities at reasonable rates.

The College Library has 68799 books available to date. Reading Room, Night Library, and Internet facility are available in the Library. Library computerization is also completed. Automation software is using the “SOUL 2.0” (INFLIBNET Centre, Ahmedabad). OPAC facility is available in the “SOUL 2.0” by Title, Author, Subject, Class No, ISBN, Publisher, Accession Number, Series/Note/Volume, Free Text search, and Boolean search for the books.

The College has well-equipped laboratories in the departments of Physics, Electronics, Computer Science, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Microbiology, and Biotechnology. The laboratories have sophisticated instrumentation facilities with ICT-based analysis methodologies.

The College has established a Magnificent Auditorium which can comfortably host all activities and large-scale international conferences. It is fully air-conditioned and properly ventilated to make the experience pleasant for guests. With a seating capacity of 1000+, this auditorium is perfect for all events and is famous in the region.

The College Canteen has separate seating arrangements for girls, and staff are provided. All the food items are reasonably priced so that Students and Staff can have the best food. All the Hygiene Standards are duly followed, and strict instructions are given to the Canteen staff.

The college has established a Health Care Centre which provides for students who fall sick so that they do not have to spend extra money outside on Health-related things. The College has tied up with many reputed healthcare institutes and signed MOUs. This Health Care Centre organizes health checkup camps every year for students.

The College Computers have become an essential part of all walks of life College has a full-fledged computer laboratory with an internet connection. The institution is equipped with an LCD, a Scanner, a CD writer, and other equipment, wherein the students and teacher educators fully avail the facilities.

The college has a Gym facility for all the students.

The college has very good infrastructural facilities for Sports and related extracurricular activities, which have been developed and have thrived over the years. There have been additions to and renovations of these facilities from time to time, for indoor and outdoor games, and also for the traditional Indian games. The students actively participate in Intercollegiate sports competitions every year in Athletics, volleyball, Baseball, Cricket, Badminton, Table tennis, and Chess. The college is well equipped with Sports Facilities.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The college has spacious and ventilated 18 classrooms for UG and PG, having adequate natural light and comfortable furniture; out of which 12 are ICT-enabled classrooms.

The college also provides good classroom facilities for all the students.
