The University of Kerala at Trivandrum has a Department of Futures Studies that adopts an entirely new and innovative approach to higher education. This concerned area of study is technology, management, and the future. The Department of Futures Studies offers postgraduate and doctoral programmes that are designed to cater to the future complexities faced by students.
For most programmes, students are required to hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university in a subject related to the chosen area. The minimum percentage usually required for most areas has been 55% marks or equivalent CGPA, with some relaxation for SC/ST candidates and those having teaching experience.
Entrance examinations play a crucial role in the Department of Futures Studies admission process. For example, the M.Tech in Technology Management programme requires candidates to appear for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Other programmes may have their own entrance tests or specific selection procedures.
This has been adapted with minor modifications for each individual programme offered in the Department of Futures Studies, University of Kerala:
The college provides four courses.
Department of Futures Studies admission to M.Tech Technology Management programme is based on the candidate's GATE score.
The department offers 18 seats for M.Sc. Data Science programme but does not provide detailed admission information. Candidates are normally required to possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant subject.
The Department of Futures Studies admission process for the Ph.D. Futures Studies programme is through an entrance examination that will be conducted by the University of Kerala. Candidates who've qualified UGC/CSIR/GATE tests or possess an M.Phil. by research thesis are exempt from this entrance. The selection process is much more elaborate compared to other programmes.
PGD Knowledge Management is another programme offered by the department for this postgraduate diploma course.
The necessary documents must be provided to complete the Department of Futures Studies admission process.
