Government Engineering College, Vaishali Admission Process

Government Engineering College, Vaishali (GEC Vaishali). It provides regional-level technical education to engineers in training through quality education. The admission procedure of the College is very elaborate and broad-ranging, as it follows the general trend among most of the government engineering colleges in India. Admission into GEC Vaishali largely depends on a student's performance in the entrance examinations conducted state and/or nationally. Among the major entrance exams through which the students can enter into GEC Vaishali is through Joint Entrance Examination (Main), popularly called as JEE Main. With its national reach and facilitated by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the JEE Main serves as an entrance examination towards various engineering programs across the regions of the country.

Aspiring students for engineering in GEC Vaishali must sit for JEE Main. The candidate usually becomes eligible to apply for admission to the institution if he/she satisfies the below eligibility criteria:

  1. Has passed the 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board
  2. Has Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in the qualifying examination
  3. Achieves the minimum percentage criteria passed out by the college or state admission authority.

Application Process

The admission procedure involved in Government Engineering College, Vaishali consists of the following steps:

1. Registering for JEE Main:

  • Register for the JEE Main examination on the NTA's official website.
  • Fill the application form accurately from personal to academic data. 
  • All supporting documents including photographs and signatures must be uploaded.
  • Pay the necessary application Fee specified by NTA.
  • Submit the downloaded confirmatory page.

2. JEE Main Examination:

  • Access to admit cards can be obtained from the NTA site when they become available. 
  • Sit the JEE Main exam on given date and designated centre.
  • The examination is in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

3. Result and Counselling:

  • The results for JEE Main would also involve those qualified to be called for the counselling process at the state level administered by BCECEB. 
  • Register for the counselling process via the BCECEB web portal.
  • Fill in the personal preferences for colleges and courses.
  • Seat allotment according to the merit rank secured in JEE Main and category shall be done.

4. Admission Confirmation:

  • If a seat is allotted to GEC Vaishali, the students should report to the institution for verification of documents. 
  • JEE Main score card
  • Copies of marksheets and certificates of 10 and 12
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • Domicile certificate (if applicable)
  • Other documents as specified by the college or BCECEB
  • Admission fees will be paid as prescribed by the college.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Tech Programs: Six B.Tech programs of four years each are available in this college. According to the JEE Main score, the candidates may be admitted to any of these six B.Tech programs. The current list of B.Tech programs and intake is as follows:

  1. B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering (60 seats)
  2. B.Tech Mechanical Engineering (60 seats)
  3. B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering (60 seats)
  4. B.Tech Electrical Engineering (60 seats)
  5. B.Tech Civil Engineering (60 seats)
  6. B.Tech Internet of Things Engineering (60 seats)

The college also offers an exclusive B.Tech program in Electronics and Communication Engineering with Advanced Communication Technology (60 seats).

M.Tech Programs: The college sponsors several M.Tech programs in this area. The admission mode for M.Tech entry could be either through a dedicated entrance test or through consideration of GATE scores. Offered M.Tech Programs are:

  1. M.Tech Electronics and Communications Engineering (30)
  2. M.Tech Mechanical Engineering (30)
  3. M.Tech Structural Engineering (18)
  4. M.Tech Cyber Security (18)
  5. M.Tech Electrical Power System (18)

Candidates willing to apply for the M.Tech programs must complete a relevant B.Tech or equivalent degree from a recognised university.

Academics

Every assistant professors in my college is required to have M.tech degree and successfully passed the BPSC lecturer examination before joining the college. All professors are very active and take classes on time. They helps us in our lab experiments and support us in need. They are friendly to us. As exams are always conducted in a well method that they don't believe in giving extra benefits to any students. All students are treated equally here. They help us in extra curriculum activites to learn and grow. Sometimes it may happens that they don't take classes due to their personal reasons but they manage by arranging extra classes for us. They guide us with important questions for the preparation of our semester exams.

It's quite good experience.

Academics

The teachers are very helpful nature and actually well qualified they help in your lab experiments, any other project. They took classes on time and if any teacher is absent then he/she arrange a faculty for you. Exams are always conducted in well method and they don't believe in giving any benefits to any student. Curriculum is perfectly designed which is not too hard or nor too easy.

It's quite amazing.
