Government Lal Shyam Shah College, Manpur aligned with Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, has a merit-based admission system, for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The college possesses NAAC accreditation and is academically good. This institution runs 10 courses under five specializations in a total of 586 students' enrollment. Admission procedures generally start after the results of the candidates taking the 12th standard for undergraduate studies and that of graduation for postgraduate courses are out.

Process Admissions Degree Wise
BA: The college holds programs in Bachelor of Arts with an intake of 160 students. The requirement for eligibility comes by having previously passed the 12th-grade examination in any stream.
B.Com: The Bachelor of Commerce program has a total of 60 seats available. Students must complete their 12th-grade examination in the Commerce stream.
B.Sc Biology Group: The course has 60 seats, during which students complete a 12th-grade examination in Science with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB).
B.Sc Maths Group: The program comprises 40 seats and will take students who have completed their 12th-grade examination in the Science discipline with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
M.Com: The Master of Commerce has 30 seats allocated for it, thus allowing a candidate to be eligible if he/she has completed B.Com or another equivalent degree.
MA Programs: The Institute has programs related to Sociology, English, Political Science, Geography, and Hindi Literature. Each program has 30 seats. Eligibility requires a Bachelor's degree in the respective subject or its equivocal qualification.
