Handia Post Graduate College, Allahabad, imparts a broad spectrum of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a whole range of subjects. The process of admission in Handia Post Graduate College aims at selecting the deserving candidates through a merit-based system and follows a predetermined procedure laid down for different courses.
The period of admission is primarily from July to August for the coming academic session. In general terms, the procedure differs from course to course; nevertheless, for the majority of undergrad and postgrad programs in Arts, Commerce, and Sciences, admissions through merit are strictly considered based on scores obtained in qualifying examinations. However, in professional courses like B.Ed and M.Ed, different admission methods are followed.
Admission to the B.Ed is based on state-level entrance tests, within the frame of policies stipulated by the state government. Admission for the M.Ed course is based on merit lists generated by the University. The D.El.Ed, likewise, adopts a merit-based admission procedure on the basis of prospective examination and/or any entrance examination as per the state government rules.
Application Process
Application procedures for Handia Post Graduate College change slightly from program to program, but largely follow these streams:
1. Announcement of Admissions: The college shall publish the beginning of the admission process on the official website and through other means.
2. Application Form: The candidate shall apply for the various courses by obtaining and filling the application form which will be available online on the college website or offline at the college admission office.

5. Merit List Preparation: The criteria for each course admission (marks in a qualifying exam, entrance exam scores, etc.) are prepared and the college prepares the merit lists accordingly.
6. Counselling and Seat Allotment: The shortlisted candidates may then be called for counseling, where the seats would be allotted to them based on merit and availability.
7. Fee Payment: The accepted candidates are to pay the prescribed fee within the mentioned time-limit to confirm their admission.
8. Document Verification: The college verifies all submitted documents before confirming the admission.
Degree-wise Admission Process:
B.Ed: The B.Ed course at Handia Post Graduate College allows an intake of 100 students. Admissions are strictly on the grounds of merit determined by the mark scored in the qualifying examination and/or marks scored in the entrance examination. The selection policy stands with the State Government/U.T. Administration and the University.
M.Ed: The M.Ed program admits 20 students based on the merit as well as University guidelines. The admission will depend upon the performance of the candidate in the qualifying examination.
D.El.Ed: The program has an approved intake of 50 students. Admissions are made on merit, based upon marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or marks secured in the entrance examination, as per the policy of the state government.
BA: Admission to the BA Program will also be done on merit basis considering the marks scored in the qualifying examination.
MA (Various Specializations): The college offers MA programs in Hindi, Political Science, Sociology, Sanskrit, History, Psychology, Economics, and Education. The admission procedure for all these programs is merit-based; admission is given based on the performance of the candidate in the qualifying examination.
B.Com and M.Com: Admission to the undergraduate and postgraduate Commerce programs is based on merit, focusing on qualifying examination results.
B.Sc and M.Sc: Admission for the Science programs, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels alike, is merit-based. Admission for the M.Sc in Chemistry will be merit and University-based.
B.P.Ed: For the Bachelor of Physical Education program admission is done based on merit and as per University guidelines.
