Jaya College of Education, is situated at Thiruninravur, Chennai. One of the best-established teacher training institutions, the Jaya College of Education, plays a very important historical role in the stage of teacher training through the presentation of two nationally recognized bachelor's and master's programs through the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Very detailed and composed, the structure of admission is to select deserving candidates for either the Bachelors in Education (B.Ed) or the Masters in Education (M.Ed) programs.
Admission is now merit-based; it depends on the marks that were obtained in that examination and/or entrance examination. The whole admission process is subjected to the operational orders of the state government/UT administration and the concerned university, namely the Tamilnadu Teachers Education University. New students should keep in mind that the admission calendar for the college usually flows in sync with the academic year of the Tamilnadu Teachers Education University. It may print specific dates every year, but in general, the application opens a few months before the start of the academic year.
Application Process
The following are the steps undertaken by Jaya College of Education in regard to the admission process:
1. Announcement of Admissions: The college announces through various avenues and on its website (https://jayace.in/) the start of the admission procedure.
2. Application Form: Interested prospective students can collect the application form at the college or download it from the official website.
3. Document Submission: The applicants should submit the duly filled application form, along with certificates/documents:
4. Entrance Examination: Entrance examination is conducted as per the State Government or university policy for candidates to appear.
5. Merit List Preparation: Merit lists will be prepared according to qualifying examination and/or entrance examination marks.
6. Counseling and Admission: Candidates whose names appear in the merit list are further called for counseling followed by the choice of admission into their opted courses (B.Ed or M.Ed) based on their rank and seats available.
7. Fee Payment: Selected candidates must make fee payment to confirm their admission.
8. Document Verification: The college will then verify all the documents submitted for finalization of the admission.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Ed (Bachelor of Education): This B.Ed program is offered through Jaya College of Education for a sanctioned intake of 100 students. Admission is strictly based on merit as per the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. This is subject to the policy framed by the State Government/UT Administration and the university. In terms of eligibility for the B.Ed program, a candidate must have an undergraduate degree from an approved university.
M.Ed (Master of Education): The overall intake for the M.Ed is 50. The admission procedure is mostly similar to that of the B.Ed. The candidates are selected on the basis of the marks acquired in his qualifying examination, entrance examination, or any other selection process as framed by the policy of the state government, university, or UT Administration. Normally, a B.Ed degree or equivalent from a recognized institution is asked for eligibility.
