Jayam Polytechnic College, Dharmapuri, has a complete admission process for prospective diploma students. The AICTE-approved college has a merit-based admission process in accordance with the policies of the Tamil Nadu State Government.

Eligibility for admission to Jayam Polytechnic College is successful pass in the 10th standard (SSLC) from a recognized board. The college follows the Government of Tamil Nadu's reservation policy strictly for BC, MBC, SC & ST categories, in addition to management quota seats. This helps to have a mix of students coming from different sections of society.

Application Process

The process of applying for Jayam Polytechnic College is easy and comprises the below steps:

1. Get the application form: Students who want to apply can pick up the application form from the college office or can download it from the official website of the college.

2. Complete the application form: Fill in all the details correctly in the application form.

3. Attach the necessary documents: Prepare and attach the following documents:

Degree wise Admission Process

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: It has the largest intake of 120 seats. Admission is made on the basis of SSLC marks, according to the state government's reservation policy. The course gives full-fledged training in mechanical engineering principles and practices.

Diploma in Civil Engineering: With an intake of 60 seats, this course also adopts the same admission pattern on the basis of SSLC marks and reservation policy. It gives students exposure to civil engineering and construction technology.

Diploma in Computer Engineering: It takes 60 students under its intake and meets the increasing needs of computer specialists. Admission is done on the basis of SSLC performance and as per the usual reservation rules.

Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering: It also has 60 seats and employs the same admission policy. It deals with electrical as well as electronic engineering principles.

Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering: There are 30 seats in this course and follows the same admission through SSLC marks and reservation policy. The course teaches students for professions in electronics and communication fields.

Lateral Entry: The college provides a lateral entry to the second year for all diploma programs to students who have completed their Higher Secondary Course (Academic or Vocational). The facility is only available up to 20% of the regular intake (10% for academic and 10% for vocational streams) and is also subject to merit and the reservation policy of the state.
