JNIAS School of Planning and Architecture, Hyderabad, is one of the well-known schools for architecture and planning education. The institute follows a stringent admission process to admit the most deserving and eager candidates for its courses.
The admission procedure in JNIAS is primarily national-level entrance examination-based with a fair and competitive selection process. For B.Arch, the candidates need to qualify through the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA). JNIAS also accepts Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) scores for B.Arch admissions, providing diverse options for meritorious students to study the course.
For postgraduation courses, JNIAS accepts scores of Telangana State Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS PGECET) and Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). TS PGECET and GATE scores are accepted for admission only to the M.Arch in Construction Management program.
Application Procedure
Application process for JNIAS School of Planning and Architecture varies for various programs:
For B.Arch course:
1. Clear NATA or JEE Main (B.Arch paper).
2. Visit the official JNIAS website and fill up the online application form.
3. Pay application fee.
4. Submit completed application form along with documents.
5. Wait for merit list based on entrance test marks.
6. On shortlisting, complete the admission procedure, i.e., document checking and fee submission.
For M.Arch programmes (Construction Management and Landscape):
1. Pass through GATE or TS PGECET.
2. Look closely at notice for application on JNIAS website.
3. Fill online application form for the selected M.Arch programme.
4. Deposit application fee as notified.
5. Send duly filled application with required documents, i.e., GATE/TS PGECET score card.
6. Shortlisted individuals might be asked for additional selection rounds, i.e., interviews.
7. Last selection is done on the basis of entrance test mark and performance in subsequent rounds, if any.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Arch:JNIAS provides a five-year Bachelor of Architecture program with an approved annual intake of 60 students. The course is admitted meritoriously through NATA or JEE Main (paper B.Arch). The candidates have to clear 10+2 with mandatory subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
M.Arch Construction Management: Two-year postgraduate program with 20 student intake. Admission based on GATE or TS PGECET score. Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in Architecture or allied field from any known institution.
M.Arch Landscape: Same two-year postgraduate program with 20 student intake. Same admission procedure as M.Arch Construction Management course, placing weightage on GATE or TS PGECET score.
