KVM Institute of Paramedical Sciences, Cherthala Admission Process

KVM Institute of Paramedical Sciences (KVMIPMS), Cherthala, is a constituent college in Alappuzha, Kerala. The institute focuses on paramedical education with two distinct programs in medical laboratory technology. 

For B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology, the minimum eligibility requirement is passing 10+2 or equivalent examination with science subjects. The selection process adheres to the guidelines of Kerala University of Health Sciences and Kerala Paramedical Council. For Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology course, eligibility is according to the guidelines of the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Government of Kerala.

Application Process

Application process in KVM Institute of Paramedical Sciences, Cherthala, is different for different programs and quotas:

For B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology:

1. Government Quota (50% seats):

  • Apply through the process of centralized allotment organized by LBS.
  • Clear the entrance examination (if any) organized by LBS.
  • Wait for merit list and allotment announcements.

2. Management Quota (35% seats):

  • Get the application form from the institute or download it from the official website.
  • Fill in the application form with correct details.
  • Send the filled-in form along with supporting documents to the institute.

3. NRI Quota (15% seats):

  • Be in the same procedure as management quota.
  • Offer more documents that establish NRI status.

For Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology:

1. Government Quota (50% seats):

  • Apply through the centralized process done by DME, Kerala.
  • Take part in the entrance examination or selection procedure as determined by DME.
  • Await the state merit list and allotment

2. Management Quota (50% seats):

  • Get and submit the application form in person to the institute.
  • Submit all relevant academic and personal documents.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology: It is a program with a total of 30 seats. The admissions are based on a special seat allocation process:

  • 50% of the seats are allocated on allotment made by the Government of Kerala through the Lal Bahadur Shastri Center for Science and Technology (LBS).
  • The remaining 50% is available in the management quota, 15% of which is earmarked for NRI candidates specifically.
  • The selection is done according to the rules of Kerala University of Health Sciences and Kerala Paramedical Council.

Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology: The course also has a systematized admission process:

  • 50% of the seats are to be filled through the state merit list brought out by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Government of Kerala.
  • The other 50% of the seats are to be kept under the management quota.
  • The selection process follows the guidelines provided by DME and Kerala Paramedical Council.

Documents required for both courses usually are:

  • 10th and 12th standard mark sheets and certificates
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Migration Certificate (if required)
  • Caste/Community Certificate (if from a reserved category)
  • NRI documents (for applicants under NRI quota)
  • Passport size photos
  • Any other documents specified by the institute or regulatory bodies
