With a CRL (Common Rank List) of 1 lakh 15 thousand, getting Computer Science Engineering (CSE) in MAIT or MSIT is unlikely, especially in the initial rounds of counseling for non-Delhi students. However, there might be a chance in the spot round, particularly if you are open to the evening shift or IT branch.

You should participate in all rounds of counseling, including the spot round, and fill in your choices carefully, prioritizing the evening shift or IT if necessary.

Hello Aanya

Both USAR and MAIT Delhi are commendable & reputed institutes.

Although new, USAR is a government institute.
Although private, MAIT is 20+ years old institute.

I would still prefer MAIT CSE over USAR as MAIT is reliable and USAR is a newer institute. My many friends study in MAIT and honestly speaking, they are not the happies (due to regrets of not getting DTU, NSUT etc) but they still have hope for a good package.

While your skills matter the most, college also affects it a bit. My one friend has done Class 12th in 2025 and I recommended him the following preference sheet (just telling colleges not branches):

1. USICT
2. MAIT
3. MSIT
4. USAR
5. BVCOE
6. BPIT

and so on.

The final decision is yours and honestly you should ask any friends or seniors who are in these colleges to get a better overview.

Thank You!!!

Hello,

Yes, with a 622 rank in IPU CET for MBA and being a Delhi candidate, you have a good chance of getting admission in MAIT (Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology).

You don’t need to worry about not giving the CAT exam. IPU CET rank is enough for admission in MAIT under the CET quota.

Just make sure to keep MAIT high in your preference list during counselling.

Hope it helps !

With a rank of 622 in the IPU CET for MBA, you have a good chance of getting into Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT), particularly if you are a Delhi candidate due to the home state quota. However, the exact cutoff for MBA at MAIT can vary each year based on factors like the number of applicants and their performance.

Here is a detailed fee structure for the B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering program at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT):

For the 2025-2026 Academic Year:

Total Fees: 8.51 Lakhs (for the complete 4-year course duration)

Total Tuition Fees: 7.15 Lakhs

First-Year Fees: 1.9 Lakhs

Tuition Fees (Year 1): 1.54 Lakhs

Other Miscellaneous Fees: 35,500

Breakdown of Yearly Fees (2025-2026):

Year 1: 189,500 (Includes tuition, exam fees, university charges, development fees, innovation fees, and a one-time alumni contribution)

Year 2: 202,900 (Includes tuition, exam fees, university charges, development fees, and innovation fees)

Year 3: 219,840 (Includes tuition, exam fees, university charges, development fees, and innovation fees)

Year 4: 238,474 (Includes tuition, exam fees, university charges, development fees, and innovation fees)

Hostel Fees (2023-2024):

Hostel fees vary depending on the type of room (AC/Non-AC) and the number of occupants (single, double, or four-seater). The fees range from 154,000 to 248,000, and all options include mess charges. There is also a refundable security deposit of 20,000.

Note: The total fees for the B.Tech CSE program for the 2025-2026 academic year show a significant increase compared to the 2024-2025 total of 6.5 Lakhs. It is recommended to consult the official MAIT website for the most current and accurate fee information.

With a 92 percentile and a rank of 123625, it's challenging but possible to get a seat in MAIT (Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology) in the OBC category and through your home state quota, particularly if you are willing to consider branches other than the most competitive ones like CSE or IT.

Hello Kavya,

If your main interest is in CSE , then go for CSE in MAIT via IPU .

Even though DTU is a better college overall, getting a branch you are not interested in (like Mechanical) may not keep you motivated. In the long run, branch matters more than college , especially in fields like computer science where there are many job opportunities.

But if you are open to learning coding on your own and want the DTU tag, you can still take Mechanical at DTU and try for branch change later (though it's not easy and depends on first-year performance), or you can learn coding side-by-side.

But to keep it simple:

  • If CSE is your priority , go for MAIT CSE .

  • If college name matters more to you , then you can think about DTU Mechanical .

Hope this helps !

Hello Amit,

With a 92 percentile in JEE Mains, you have a solid chance of securing admission to colleges like MAIT (Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology), MSIT (Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology), and BVP (Bharati Vidyapeeth University) for B.Tech, depending on the branch and the category you belong to.

1. MAIT & MSIT (Delhi):

  • Cutoff : For branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, the cutoff is generally between 90-95 percentile in JEE Mains.

  • Counseling : Both MAIT and MSIT take part in Delhi University counseling, and admission is based on the rank and availability of seats.

  • Reservation : If you're from a reserved category (SC/ST/OBC), you may get an advantage in the cutoffs.

    2. BVP (Pune):

  • BVP CET : While BVP conducts its own entrance exam, students with a good JEE Mains percentile often get a direct entry, especially for courses like CSE, ECE, and Mechanical Engineering.

  • Cutoff : For popular branches, cutoffs range between 90-95 percentile in JEE Mains, but you'll need to clear the BVP CET for final admission.

  • Reservation : The university also provides reservations, which could help you if you're from a reserved category.

Make sure to check each college’s official website or counseling portal for the most accurate and updated information. Also, keep an eye on the cutoffs for the specific branches you’re interested in.

Hello,

You may get admission to a Management and IT (MAIT) college , but it depends on several factors:

1. Most good colleges require at least 50-60% in 12th for admission. Some may accept lower marks.

2. Some colleges admit students through entrance exams like IPU CET, while others take direct admission.

3. If you belong to any reserved category (SC/ST/OBC), you might get relaxation in eligibility criteria.

If you don’t get admission in top colleges, you can look for other private colleges with lower cutoffs.

Hope it helps !
