Hy,

To get admission into the MBM Engineering College, Jodhpur for the Information Technology (IT) branch, the required percentile can vary based on several factors, including the following:

  1. JEE Main Scores: Admissions to MBM College are primarily based on JEE Main scores and the subsequent rank.
  2. State Quota vs. All India Quota: Depending on whether you're applying through the state quota or the all-India quota, the required percentile may differ.
  3. Previous Year Trends: Typically, IT is a popular branch, which can affect cut-offs.

General Insights on Percentile

  • For General EWS (Economically Weaker Section) female candidates, the required percentile for admission into the IT branch may range from 85 to 95 percentile , but this can vary significantly based on the year and the overall applicant pool.

Steps to Determine Current Cut-offs

  1. Check Previous Year Cut-off Data: Look for the last year’s admission data for MBM Engineering College for the IT branch. This will give you a good indication of the percentile you might need.

  2. Consult Official Sources:

    • Visit the official website of MBM Engineering College or the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Rajasthan, for the latest updates on cut-offs and admission criteria.
  3. Stay Updated on JEE Main Results:

    • Keep track of the JEE Main results and the counseling process to get accurate information about cut-offs.

With a rank of 4501 in the VIT Integrated M.Tech program, you have a decent chance of getting a seat in Software Engineering, especially at the VIT Chennai campus. Getting into the Vellore campus may be slightly tougher as it’s more in demand. However, seat availability and cut-offs change each year depending on how many students apply and their preferences. So, keep an eye on the counselling rounds—you might get your preferred branch or campus in later rounds.

You are not qualified for direct second-year (lateral entry) admission to the BSc IT program because of your 10th, 12th, and direct second-year diploma in civil engineering.  A computer science or information technology diploma is typically required for lateral entrance.  However, if you fulfill the necessary 12th subject and marks standards, you can apply for admission to the first year of the BSc IT program.

The counselling process for M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Information Technology (IT) at GGSIPU usually starts after the entrance exam results are declared. For 2025, it is expected to begin in June. The process includes registration, document verification, filling in preferences, seat allotment, and fee payment. You will need to upload documents like your rank card, category certificate, and educational qualifications. Keep an eye on the official GGSIPU website for updates on the schedule and detailed instructions.

Hello Aspirant,

See the marks that you need to secure in order to obtain free seat cannot be predicted just randomly . Many factors play role in the determination of these things . The factors such as number of candidates appearing in the counselling, previous year cutoffs and number of seats available in the college plays a crucial role.

In order to get this free seat you need to score a decent percentile being from general category. A percentile of 97+ would be a safer score.

If you are preparing for the Mechanical Engineering paper in the GATE examination, here are the essential details and strategies to help you understand the pattern and perform well:

• The GATE Mechanical Engineering paper is designed to test candidates on their understanding of core mechanical subjects, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability.

• The exam is conducted online as a Computer-Based Test with a total of 65 questions carrying 100 marks.

• It includes three sections: General Aptitude (15 marks), Engineering Mathematics (13 marks), and Core Mechanical Engineering subjects (72 marks).

• The question types include Multiple Choice Questions, Multiple Select Questions, and Numerical Answer Type questions.

• Important topics in the core section include Thermodynamics, Strength of Materials, Fluid Mechanics, Theory of Machines, Engineering Mechanics, Manufacturing Technology, Heat Transfer, and Machine Design.

• Engineering Mathematics includes topics like Linear Algebra, Calculus, Differential Equations, Probability, and Numerical Methods.

• General Aptitude tests your language and reasoning abilities, including topics like logical reasoning, grammar, and basic numerical skills.

• Solving previous year question papers is highly recommended as it gives insight into the pattern and level of difficulty.

• Time management is key during preparation and also while attempting the paper. Practice mock tests regularly.

• Refer to standard books such as R K Rajput for Thermal and Fluid Sciences, and Bansal for Strength of Materials.

• Make your own notes and revision charts to quickly recall formulas and concepts during final revision.

If you are currently studying BE in Mechanical Engineering and are interested in pursuing post-graduate studies in Rubber Technology, there are several options available across India. Rubber Technology is a specialized and promising field that deals with the processing, design, testing, and manufacturing of rubber-based materials and products. Here are some important points to help you plan your PG journey:

  1. MTech in Rubber Technology
This is a direct PG course offered by select institutes such as:

    • Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT KGP)

    • Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kochi

    • Anna University, Chennai These institutes admit students through GATE, so qualifying GATE in Mechanical or related stream is important.

  2. MTech in Polymer Technology
Polymer Technology is broader and includes Rubber Technology. This course is offered in:

    • CIPET (Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology)

    • Delhi Technological University (DTU)

    • Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham

  3. MSc in Rubber or Polymer Science

Hii There,

Since previous cutoffs have closed at 2,100, it is extremely unlikely that someone with a rank of 17,500 in the SASTRA rank list will be accepted into core bio-oriented engineering programs like the B.Tech in Bioengineering.  You might, however, choose a different discipline and pursue bio-related topics through electives or minor specialties, or you could look into similar possibilities like integrated M.Tech programs in Biotechnology or Medical Nanotechnology.  For information on other options or course availability in subsequent rounds, it is preferable to contact SASTRA admissions.

If you have any other question, please feel free to ask. I hope this answers your question.

Thanks
