MIMIT has well maintained and green campus that provides a peaceful learning the college features modern classrooms fully equipped computer labs and good hostels for both boys and girls and proper sports facilities
It provides quality education in fields like engineering, management and computer applications all faculty members are experienced and supportive, always ready to guide students seminars ,workshops are organised
Around 60% btech students secure jobs and placement cell is headed by dr rutash mittal this cell handles on campus and off campus placement drives and internships as well as training workshops and career guidance
It is considered as value for money institute especially for students from punjab
Campus life is balanced and student friendly
It is best college in this area of malwa with the kind of facilities it provides
The infrastructure at MIMIT is decent and improving over time. Labs are air-conditioned and equipped with the latest systems, especially for CS and IT. Classrooms have whiteboards and some are upgraded with smart boards too. The library is spacious with a good study environment and a solid book collection. Campus Wi-Fi is mostly reliable. However, hostel facilities are average, and the mess food could definitely use improvement.
I'm currently in my final year of B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at MIMIT. The course covers core subjects like Data Structures, DBMS, Operating Systems, and also newer areas like Machine Learning and Cloud Computing. The quality of teaching is decent—some professors are really supportive and explain concepts well, while others stick to the textbook. The curriculum is somewhat updated, though it still misses out on a few trending technologies like DevOps and certain AI tools. Practical exposure has improved with lab work and minor projects, but we could definitely use more industry-level training. Overall, it's a good foundation, but I’ve had to rely on online courses and self-learning to feel fully job-ready in the tech industry.
For the CSE batch, about 65–70% of us managed to get placed through campus. The highest package reached close to ₹11–12 LPA, but most people got offers in the ₹5–6 LPA range. Names like Infosys, Wipro did visit, which is good. The placement process felt organized, though many peers felt they had to be proactive—sending their resumes, attending extra sessions, etc. The T&P cell did conduct mocks, personality-building workshops, and interviews, but a lot depended on your own efforts and networking.”
My B.Tech CSE course at MIMIT costs around ₹88,000 per year without any scholarship. But the good thing is, there are multiple scholarships available like CM Scholarship, EWS quota, PMS (Post Matric Scholarship), and even merit-based ones based on 12th marks. Many students end up paying a very reduced amount or sometimes almost nothing at all. So yes, considering the low fee and government support, I do feel it's worth it. You get access to decent labs, library, and infrastructure—it’s up to you how much you make of it
MIMIT has a good campus—lots of greenery and open space. The best part is the academic block with AC labs, smart classrooms, and a huge library where you can actually focus. There's a small canteen, sports ground, and enough places to just sit and relax. The downside? Hostels aren’t great—rooms are okayish and the mess food is something we all complain about. Most students here are friendly and helpful. Some teachers are really good and supportive, but a few just stick to theory. The support staff is nice, especially if you treat them with respect—they’ll help you out with labs, forms, or hostel issues. The college is in Malout, which is a small, peaceful town. The campus feels safe with guards, CCTV, and basic medical facilities. They do handle emergencies well, and there’s a hospital nearby too. There are lots of activities—tech fests, cultural events, sports, coding competitions, NSS, and even hackathons. You just need to be active and willing to participate to enjoy college life here.
Computer labs are ample but cannot be used without prior permission which is quiet hard to get if you are not good at academics. Has a decent library with a lot of books and reading room and computer room. Hostel is available but women aren't allowed to leave the hostel but only once a week and they have to return before sunset.
Good teachers for most subjects but the syllabus is so outdated comparing to the current times which mostly is in almost all the colleges (i would suggest you drop formal education and take up online courses).Lot of reserved category students which seldom attend classes so the study environment has deteriorated.
Almost nill placement opportunities. Companies almost never visit. MoUs signed previously have expired. Any placement you get would be solely based on your talent and knowledge alone. College would just give you recommendations and notices about job drives. Nothing much.
Fees is pretty low if you are a scholar. The scholarship is offered by CM scholarship of punjab. Reserved category students can also get pretty hefty scholarships. Please visit the website to know more.
Has a lawn tennis ground, one ground for football/other outdoor supports, 1 ground for basketball. A lush garden is beside the campus. Terrible canteen. Not much cultural activities. Girls in hostel cannot venture out and enjoy their life with friends. I'd say the thinking of the women's hostel administration aligns with the 80s.
The infrastructure and facility available on campus are amongest the very best. A standby power generator is provided in the campus to take care of the occasional power shut down due to maintenance. A technologically adept campus
I am studying computer science and engineering. I Like computer programming so I am there to get knowledge about this. Yes our curriculum is updating and all the recent developments are there in the field.
Placement is also very good of MIMIT, Malout They offering placements for all the branches. Many of the biggest companies are come for students. They also give company visits to the students for check the environment of the company.
Yes my college have all the necessary infrastructure , facilities and equipment. proper classrooms are there for students laboratories with all necessary materials. A well maintained Library with good books.Yes my college have all the necessary infrastructure , facilities and equipment.
I use to study mechanical engineering in the college because of the fact that its the most required type of engineering and taken as a evergreen field for job. The faculty in college is really good, knowledgeable and well experienced. The curriculum is good but not up to the mark could be updated better and it does not make you job ready at all.

teachers are very good. They are very supportive by nature. they help the students as much as possible. They always ready to learn news technologies then they also tell about that new technology to students

this is a government college so the fee of this college is too less. Fees for SC/ST students are very low. They also provide special concession to poor students for their good education. I am very much impress
Maggi of the canteen is very much tasty. I like it so much.
I enjoy my college life too much
Its fairly average college with nice but old infrastructure it was build by punjab state government it hass all facilities and equipment for college but its old main building has been shut down due to some reason and its main park is also open to public and has been removed from the college. The facilities provided are good abd working like projector, black board, white board, libraries also have all course books but in limited amount and students are only allowed to issue 4 8books at one time .
I use to study mechanical engineering in the college because of the fact that its the most required type of engineering and taken as a evergreen field for job. The feculty in college is reaaly good, knowledgeable and well experienced but thire is a little shortage of feculty for some subjects. The curriculum is good but not up to the mark could be updated better and it does not make you job ready at all.
The placement is depleting year by year and this year thire was no college placement for mechanical engineers only 10% of students were placed that to from university pool placement. Highest salary package offered was 8 lac and it went to cse stream engineering student. The average salary ofdered was 2.5 lac and the placement process was ok but college was not supportive.
It coat aboit 1.5 lac a year including hostel but i dont think it was worth taking that it was a government college into consideration.
Hostel was ok but old and the gym was just torn apart garbage and thire was no place for entertainment or increaseing your extra skills althoug they really put effort on sports and extre caricullar activity during university events.
Its a average college but can do better if the management is goos and students are given power and freedom to do extra stuff.
Dear Student,
Malout Institute of Management and Information Technology (MIMIT) was established in the year 1998. It is located in Malout, Punjab and is affiliated with I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. The college has a separate Training and Placement cell managed by a dedicated team. Companies such as Wipro, HCL, TCS etc. visit the campus and take students in bulk. The average package is 4LPA and the highest package is around 18LPA. Along with the academic activities, the institute organizes various cultural activities in Music, Dance, Theatre, Fine Arts and Literary for all round development of the students. The infrastructure of the college is also great, it has Wi-Fi enabled campus. There are separate girls and boys hostels with mess providing good quality of food. It has a stationery shop inside the college, and there is also an ATM for instant and emergency cash needs. There is a central library in the institute too with audiovisual support which is air-conditioned.
Hope this helped.

Hello aspirant,
Better you take MIMIT college to pursue CSE course because this has a good placements than compared to SBSST college. There is hostel facility for girls minimal cost. There is no hostel provided by SBSST college.
If you want to know more about MIMIT and SBSST college then check about them at their official website.
Good luck.
