Malout Institute of Management and Information Technology (MIMIT) is an affiliated college in Malout, Punjab. The institute is important for its comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the fields of engineering, management, computer applications, and commerce. The admission procedure of MIMIT is designed to ensure that the best candidates are enlisted by their admission process via merit and national-level entrance examinations so that the process is fair and competitive. Like any other institute, MIMIT follows the academic calendar of August-September for its admissions. For engineering programs, MIMIT follows the same admission procedure as JEE Main for which CBSE conducts the examination. Admissions for the management program will, however, be on the basis of CMAT scores.
Within B.Tech, MIMIT has implemented a quota system according to which 85% seats are reserved for residents of Punjab and 15% for all those residing in other states concerning national territory. This assists in ensuring a more diverse student body and also gives priority to local talent. Each course has different eligibility criteria. B.Tech students are required to have passed 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects. MBA aspirants need to have a valid CMAT score. Other eligibility requirements may differ in terms of other courses, and candidates are informed to check the official MIMIT website for in-depth details.
Application Process
The application process varies with MIMIT depending on the program:
For the B. Tech program:
MBA program:'
For other programs (BCA, BBA, B.Com (Hons), M.Sc IT, PGD):
Admission Process Degree Wise
B.Tech: JEE Main is the basis of all admissions to B.Tech courses in MIMIT: Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. A total of 210 seats are available across these above courses, Computer Science receiving maximum allocation with 120 seats.
MBA: An MBA admission at MIMIT is strictly based on performance in the Common Management Admission Test, CMAT. MIMIT has a capacity of 60 seats under this program. Applicants who have qualifying CMAT scores stand eligible for admission to MBA courses.
BCA: MIMIT also has a BCA program of intake capacity of 120 seats. No specific admission details are mentioned, but it is most likely based on 10+2 results or a relevant entrance exam.
BBA and B.Com (Hons): Admission processes for BBA and B. Com (Hons) programs are not explicitly mentioned by the institute but are usually based on 10+2 results or relevant entrance exams, each having a capacity of 60 seats.
M.Sc Information Technology: MIMIT offers an M.Sc in Information Technology under an intake capacity of 60 seats. Admission details are not specified and typically require a related bachelor's degree.
PGD in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics: This postgraduate diploma program admits 60 candidates. Specific admission criteria are not mentioned but are most likely to require a relevant bachelor's degree.
Generally, the required documents include:
Good teachers for most subjects but the syllabus is so outdated comparing to the current times which mostly is in almost all the colleges (i would suggest you drop formal education and take up online courses).Lot of reserved category students which seldom attend classes so the study environment has deteriorated.
I am studying computer science and engineering. I Like computer programming so I am there to get knowledge about this. Yes our curriculum is updating and all the recent developments are there in the field.
I use to study mechanical engineering in the college because of the fact that its the most required type of engineering and taken as a evergreen field for job. The faculty in college is really good, knowledgeable and well experienced. The curriculum is good but not up to the mark could be updated better and it does not make you job ready at all.
