Meera Medical Institute of Nursing and Hospital, Abohar, is a premier institute providing nursing education in Punjab, India. The institute offers a number of nursing programs comprising diploma levels, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels. The merit of the qualifying examination is the basis of admission to some courses, while some require candidates to appear for entrance examinations conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences.

Application Process

Depending on the program chosen, the application process for Meera Medical Institute of Nursing and Hospital varies:

For GNM and ANM programs:

1. Register for Punjab Para Medical Entrance Test (PPMET) or Punjab Para Medical Entrance Test (PPBNET), whichever is applicable, conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences.
2. Appear for the entrance examination on the scheduled date.
3. After declaration of results, Scrutinized candidates shall apply to Meera Medical Institute.
4. Collect and complete the application form for the institute, enclosing all documents required.
5. Submit the completed application form to the admission office of the institute.
6. Final selection shall be based on the performance of the candidate in the entrance test and the admission guidelines of Punjab Government.

Degree wise Admission process

GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery): The General Nursing and Midwifery course is based on the merit list obtained in the qualifying examination. The institute offers 60 seats for the diploma course. Candidates must have passed their 10+2 examinations in the relevant subjects.

B.Sc Nursing: For admission to the B.Sc Nursing program, it is strictly according to the notification of the Punjab Government. Candidates must qualify in the Punjab Para Medical Entrance Test (PPMET) conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. The institute admits 60 students to this undergraduate program. Eligibility usually includes 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.

Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: Admissions to the Post Basic B.Sc Nursing program shall be done according to the Punjab Government notification. The Punjab Para Medical Entrance Test (PPBNET) conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences is mandatory for the candidates. The institute offers 50 seats for this program. Typically, eligibility includes a diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery.

ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery): The admission proceedings in the ANM programme are decided strictly on the basis of academic merit. This institute admits a total of 40 applicants into the diploma course of ANM. Candidates need to have completed either 10+2 or an equivalent course to be generally eligible.
