Narayanaguru College of Engineering (NGCE), Kanyakumari, is among the affiliated institutions duly recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It is a merit-based entry system following the Anna University (affiliating University) ordinances. Admission opportunities are widely available with a large number of programmes in engineering and management that range from undergraduate to postgraduate.
NGCE admission process generally starts in the first half of the academic year, after the conduct of standardised entrance exams for NGCE admission to undergraduate engineering programmes based on the state-level entrance examinations. For postgraduate NGCE admission, among the factors that are taken into account are the GATE eligibility exam and some other entrance examinations, such as the CEETA-PG and TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test).
For undergraduate programmes, candidates must have passed 10 + 2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects from a recognised board. On the other hand, master's candidates need to have a bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline from a recognised university.
The application procedure for NGCE is given below in a detailed manner to make it easy to understand:
To accommodate the unique requirements of each programme, NGCE admission procedures may differ. You’ll find a detailed explanation for each course below.
NGCE offers six B.E. programmes: Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Information Technology, Automobile Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. These programmes are offered NGCE admission based on the merit of the state-level engineering entrance examination. The B.E. programme in Computer Science and Engineering has the maximum intake of 120 seats.
The college offers a B.Tech programme in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science for an intake of 60 students. This would follow similar NGCE admission procedures to the B.E. Programmes.
NGCE offers an M.E. specialisation in Applied Electronics, Computer Science & Engineering, VLSI Design, Structural Engineering, Power Electronics and Drives, and Manufacturing Engineering. NGCE admission procedures for these programmes consider the GATE scores and might include additional tests or interviews. Each of the M.E. programmes has an intake capacity that ranges from 8 to 16.
The intake for the MBA programme at NGCE is 90 students. NGCE admissions are based on the TANCET scores, following which a selection process has to be undertaken. This may include group discussions and personal interviews.
The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme has an intake of 30 students. NGCE admission process would be the same as for other postgraduate programmes, relying on the scores of the corresponding entrance exams.
To complete NGCE admission procedures efficiently, applicants should submit copies of essential documents along with their application.
