NIMRA College of Engineering and Technology, Vijayawada Admission Process

NIMRA College of Engineering and Technology (NCET), Vijayawada, is a very well-known educational college providing diverse postgraduate and undergraduate courses for the management and engineering fields. The college strictly has a merit-based admission procedure for its extensive array of courses. NCET's admissions process is made to choose intelligent and deserving students through state-level entry tests.

The admission to NCET is generally done during the months prior to the onset of the academic year, i.e., August-September. Undergraduate courses in engineering largely use the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET) for admissions. M.Tech postgraduate courses take into account the scores in the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP PGECET), and MBA and MCA admissions are done based on the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Common Entrance Test (APICET).

Eligibility criteria are different according to the program. For B.Tech programs, the candidates should have 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects. Master's applicants should possess a bachelor's degree of a relevant stream from a recognized university. Individual program specific eligibility requirements can be minimum percentage in qualification exams.

Application Process

The application process for applying in NIMRA College of Engineering and Technology differs based on the program:

For B.Tech programs:

1. Clear AP EAMCET exam.
2. Register for the state-level counseling process.
3. Select NCET and preferred courses during counseling.
4. On allotment of seat, attend NCET for verification of documents and payment of fees.

For M.Tech courses:

1. Clear AP PGECET test.
2. Attend state-level counseling process.
3. Choose NCET and preferred M.Tech specialisation during counseling.
4. Finish admission formalities at NCET on seat allotment.

For MBA and MCA programs:

1. Clear APICET test.
2. Fill application for state-level counseling process.
3. Choose NCET during counseling.
4. Visit NCET for verification of documents and admission if seat is allotted.

Degree Wise Admission Process

B.Tech: NCET provides different B.Tech courses such as Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. All these courses are admitted on the basis of AP EAMCET scores. The total intake capacity of the college for all the B.Tech courses is 360 seats with a maximum intake capacity of 120 seats for Computer Science and Engineering.

M.Tech: The institution provides M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering and VLSI System Design. The admissions are based on AP PGECET, with counseling following afterwards. Intake of 18 students for each M.Tech is provided.

MBA: The admission capacity in the MBA program in NCET is 120. The admissions are allotted on the basis of APICET scores, and counseling follows afterwards by the state government.

MCA: Just like the MBA course, admissions to the MCA course are also provided based on APICET marks. The course intake capacity is 120 seats.

Documents required for admission usually are:

  • Passport size photos
  • 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
  • Degree mark sheets and certificates (for postgraduate courses)
  • Score card of entrance exam (AP EAMCET/AP PGECET/APICET)
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • Domicile certificate
  • Any other certificate acceptable as per the institute or state government norms
