The Orissa School of Mining Engineering (OSME), is one of the leading technical institutes in Keonjhar, Orissa. All diploma courses of the institute are approved by the AICTE. OSME looks for qualified admission candidates to its diploma programs to meet ever-increasing requirements of aspirants already in the mining sector or other related industries. Applicants should understand that OSME conducts all its diploma courses on a full-time basis. Attendance at lectures is required of students and participation in other schedule classes. Admission cycles usually take place once every year, corresponding to the academic year.
Application Process

Degree wise Admission Process
OSME runs six full-time diploma courses of three years each. The procedures followed for the admission for these courses include:
Diploma in Mining Engineering: It is approved for intake of 60 students. Admission to this program is based on the qualifying examinations, keeping into consideration the applicants who have more inclination toward the mining sector.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: To be admitted in this program, the intake is of 60 students. Strong base in mathematics and physics is preferred for a student to be eligible for this program.
Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering: This program is meant for students who have material sciences and engineering aptitude with a capacity of 60 students.
Diploma in Civil Engineering: For this program, OSME offers 30 seats. Admission is allowed for those students who have proficiency in mathematics and physical sciences.
Diploma in Drilling Engineering: It is a specialized program consisting of the intake of 30 students pursuing an application in oil and gas exploration.
Diploma in Electrical Engineering: The institute will admit 30 students under this program. Good understanding of physics and strong analytical skills assists in the admission process.
For seeking admission into Orissa School of Mining Engineering, a candidate should have a qualification of 10+2 or its equivalent from PCM from Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha. The candidates who have passed with at least 35% from BSE, Odisha are also eligible to apply.
