Pal College of Nursing and Medical Sciences, Haldwani Admission Process

Pal College of Nursing and Medical Sciences, Haldwani, is amongst the most eminent institutions of nursing education in Uttarakhand, having a great tradition of nursing education. The college offers nursing education programs, which are approved by the Indian Nursing Council and affiliated to Kumaun University.

Admission to the Pal College of Nursing and Medical Sciences is very selective, and only deserving and able students are welcomed for pursuing different avenues of nursing education. There are eligibility criteria to be followed as per the prescription of the Indian Nursing Council and the institution concerned. For graduate programs like B.Sc Nursing, the normal trend for eligibility is to have completed 10+2 in Science subjects.

The college offers a number of health-related nursing degree programs such as B.Sc in Nursing, General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM), post-basic B.Sc in Nursing, and M.Sc Nursing in various specializations. Admission for each program is restricted to ensure proper balancing of students for each program.

Application Process

Processes followed by Pal College of Nursing and Medical Sciences, Haldwani:

1. Announcement of Admissions: As a rule, the announcement of admission is made either on the college's official website or through other media advertisements.

2. Application Form: Interested candidates are to collect and fill the application form, which was available online on the college website or on-campus.

3. Document Submission: Candidates need to send in completed application forms along with required documents, which include:

Degree-wise Admission Process

Undergraduate B.Sc Nursing: This program is a four-year course for 50 students. Admission of students is based upon completion of the Science in 10+2 level. Admission on merit or by entrance examination is somewhat mentioned for admission, but specific comments have not been given.

GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery): Generally, the three-year diploma course has an intake of 50 students. Eligibility often pertains to completion of 10+2, preferably with Science subjects.

ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife): Usually, this two-year certificate course has 40 seats available. Eligibility generally applies to those who have completed 10+2.

Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: This two years program has 30 seats. It is conducted for registered nurses upgrading their qualification. The common applicant is those having required GNM or equivalent nursing diploma.

M.Sc Nursing: The college provides M.Sc Nursing in a branch-wise manner of Medical Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, and Psychiatric Nursing. Each specialization has 3-4 seats, totaling 17 seats for M.Sc. Likely admission will be based on the candidate's performance in the B.Sc Nursing degree and perhaps an entrance test or interview.
