Parul Institute of Ayurved and Research, Vadodara Admission Process

Parul Institute of Ayurved and Research (PIAR), Vadodara, is among the newest constituent colleges of the University of Parul for offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Ayurvedic medicine. The admission process at this institute is likely designed to admit only students who are fully dedicated to the programs but are also capable of meeting the requirements. PIAR also offers various courses across the three degree levels: undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral, all dealing with Ayurvedic studies, totaling 15 courses. The admission cycle normally runs parallel with the academic year that commences around August-September. To be considered for undergraduate admissions, applicants to PIAR must merit in their 10+2 assessment, very specifically regarding science subjects. Admission onto postgraduate courses will also be based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate (NEET PG), which would be a national competitive examination for Ayurvedic postgraduate entry.

The programs have different eligibility criteria. The criteria for the BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) program stipulate that candidates must score 50% in NEET and undergone Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) in their 12th standard examination. Candidates need to qualify for PG-NEET with a minimum of 50% marks for admission to the postgraduate programs. All the important dates relating to NEET PG counselling, which is significant for taking admission into postgraduates, usually fall in January. For example, Round 3 processing of seat allotment will be conducted from January 1 to January 2, 2025. Candidates may refer to the official website of PIAR and NEET PG notifications for particular deadlines and exam dates.

Application Process

The application process for PIAR is different according to the program:

For BAMS:

  1. Clear NEET by scoring 50 percent and above
  2.  Apply via the centralized admission process as per state/national guidelines.
  3. Candidates must submit the required documents such as 10+2 mark sheets, NEET score card, and other relevant certificates as laid down by the institute.

MD/MS Programs Admission:

  1. Qualify for NEET PG with a minimum of 50%.
  2. Register for the common use of centralized counseling for Ayurvedic PG admissions.
  3. Fill in the PIAR application form (where applicable separately).
  4. Attend the counseling process as scheduled by the authorities.
  5. Submit the required documents, including BAMS degree certificate, internship completion certificate, NEET PG score card, and any other relevant certificates.

The following essential documents must be provided while applying for admission:

  • Passport size photograph
  • 10th and 12th standard mark sheets
  • NEET/NEET PG score card
  • Degree certificates (for PG admissions)
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
