Raath Mahavidyalaya, Pauri Garhwal Admission Process

Raath Mahavidyalaya, is located in Paithani, Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, and is a government-aided college. The admission system of Raath Mahavidyalaya was programmed to select deserving candidates into its various courses. For most of its programs, the college follows a merit-based admission system. For the B.Ed. course from the self-financed category, merit is based on the student's performance in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. However, the selection of candidates could be influenced by the proclamation of policies by the State Government, UT administration, or affiliated university. The procedure for admission into the B.P.Ed. program is more complicated than for other programs due to the inclusion of a written test and also sports proficiency and physical fitness tests as well as scoring of academic performance marks in the qualifying examination, thus allowing thorough selection of the academically and physiologically competent batches into the program.

Application Process

1. Visit the official website of Raath Mahavidyalaya for admission announcements and application forms.

2. Download the application form for the course of your choice (BA, B.Ed., or B.P.Ed.) and fill it out.

3. Collect the requisite documents which may involve:

  • Marksheets of qualifying examinations (10th, 12th and/or graduation as applicable)
  • Character certificate from the last attended institution
  • Transfer certificate
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Recent passport-size photographs

4. Submit the duly filled application form along with all supporting documents either online or at the college admission office, as guided in the admission notification.

5. B.Ed. and B.P.Ed. program candidates, if allowed by the notification, would prepare and take the entrance test.

6. B.P.Ed. candidates should prepare to undergo sports proficiency and physical fitness testing.

7. Wait for the publication of the merit list. Most probably the list shall be displayed onto the college notice board and/or website.

8. Selected applicants will then have to fill up another form and pay the required fee as acknowledged by the time laid down in the admission notification.

9. The candidates will be welcomed to the orientation program, where they will embark on their journey with Raath Mahavidyalaya.

Degree wise Admission Process

BA: The Bachelor of Arts course at Raath Mahavidyalaya has an approved intake of 210 students. Although specific admission procedures for this course are not detailed, it is likely that admission is based on merit based on the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) results.

B.Ed: The college offers two programs of B.Ed., one regular and the other self-financed, having an intake capacity of 200 students each. The admission procedure for both programs is similar. Candidates are selected based on their performance in the qualifying examination and/or an entrance examination. The admission also follows the policies set by the State Government, UT Administration, and affiliated University.

B.P.Ed: The Bachelor of Physical Education program has an intake of 50 students. The admission procedure for B.P.Ed. is more complicated and comprises the following steps:

  1. Written Test
  2. Sports Proficiency Tests
  3. Physical Fitness Test
  4. Marks obtained in the qualifying examination

Based on the merit ranking of candidates on the aggregate performance in all of these criteria, the merit list for B.P.Ed. is to be drawn, assuring that the candidates are well qualified both in the theoretical aspects as also in the practical requirements of the course.
