The process alone for getting into programs is long and complex, where only the most deserving are selected.
Programs run mostly by the national level entrance, ensuring fair opportunity and devising a competitive environment. These 2 major entrance examinations are:
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for undergraduate programs.
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate programs.
For undergraduate admissions, students with valid NEET scores are considered. The NEET examination is conducted generally once a year and scores are valid for that particular academic year. Candidates appearing for NEET must keep close watch for any updates regarding application date, examination date, and result date on their official website.
NEET PG is the most important exam for postgraduate admission. NEET PG counselling usually starts from January but the actual Round 3 Seat Allotment is scheduled for January 1-2, 2025. Candidates need to stay updated on the latest information regarding exam dates and counselling schedule through the NEET PG official website.
MBBS Admission eligibility criteria include having passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as main subjects. For admission into graduate courses, the candidate must have completed MBBS from any recognized institution. Specific eligibility differs for each course, whose details candidates should check from the official college website.
Application Process
For MBBS:
Valid score in the NEET examination.
Registration for the state-level counselling process (for Telangana state quota seats) or taking part in the All India Quota (AIQ) counselling.
Fill the online application form for counselling with necessary details about one’s self and academic qualifications.
Upload all relevant documents including NEET score card, 10+2 mark sheet, domicile certificate (if applicable), and category certificates (if applicable).
Submit the required application fee.
Attend the counselling on the mentioned date and time.
If allotted, report to Government Medical College, Nalgonda for document verification and formal admission.
For MD/MS Programs:
Qualify the NEET PG examination.
Register for NEET PG counselling.
Fill the online application form for counselling with necessary details about one’s self and academic qualifications.
Upload all relevant documents including NEET PG score card, MBBS degree certificate, internship completion certificate, and other relevant documents.
Submit the required application fee.
Participate in the counselling process on the scheduled dates.
If allocated a seat at Government Medical College, Nalgonda, the candidate is to report to the college for document verification and admission procedure.
Degree Wise Admission Process
MBBS: The college has 150 seats for the MBBS course. The selection for the MBBS course is made on the basis of NEET examination rank of candidates and counselling process thereafter. The total duration of the course is 5.5 years including one year of compulsory rotatory internship.
MD Programs: Several MD programs are offered by Government Medical College, Nalgonda with varying admission capacities. Admission is based on NEET PG scores followed by counselling processes. The MD programs usually span for three years.
MD Pharmacology: 5 seats
MD Biochemistry: 5 seats
MD Microbiology: 3 seats
MD Forensic Medicine: 3 seats
MD Physiology: 3 seats
MS Anatomy: Three seats are allocated for the MS Anatomy programme. Graduates from this programme are also selected according to NEET PG scores and counselling.
To be eligible for any postgraduate program, candidates have to complete their MBBS degree and pass the NEET PG Entrance Examination.
