Shivparvathi Mandradiar College of Education, Palayakottai Admission Process

A native of Palayakottai, Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, Shivparvathi Mandradiar College of Education has gained a name for itself among the colleges of teacher education and it is affiliated to the corresponding university and recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).  The admission procedure is based on merit, considering the marks scored in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination, whereby preference is given to applicants placed higher in the rank list according to the rules of selection made by the state government, UT administration, and the affiliated university. This ensures that the selection of aspiring educators is fair and transparent. Basically, admission generally begins a few months before the commencement of the academic year of the respective college. 

Different programs have different eligibility criteria. A candidate applying for a degree in undergraduate education should have completed his 10+2 education successfully from a recognized board. A postgraduate applicant, on the other hand, needs to have a relevant bachelor's degree from a recognized university. 7. Merit List: The merit list of successful candidates will be prepared and displayed on the notice board, as well as posted on the college website.

8. Admission confirmation: Names on the merit list will be required to confirm their AEO admission by forfeiting their fees and submitting original documents by the prescribed date.

9. Orientation: The orientation for newly admitted students is generally held at the start of an academic season.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Ed.-The college has accepted for 100 seats approved for the B.Ed. program, where admission to B.Ed. is based on merit considering the marks at the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination, funding policies of the state government, UT administration, and the affiliated university. The duration of the program is two years with total fees of ₹80,000.

M.Ed. Admission: The M.Ed. course consists of 50 seats for which merit-based admissions are given. Selection is made based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination, performance in the entrance examination, and other selection processes, as per the policy of the state government/central government/university/UT administration. The M.Ed. therefore is a two-year course and fee for the entire course is ₹70,000.
