Hello Aspirant
Getting admission into MA English is now done through the CUET PG exam conducted by NTA on a national level every year. All you need to do is fill out the forms for the exam, get your admit card, and appear for the exam. After you get your results, depending on the cut-off, you fill out the forms for various colleges/universities and sit for their counseling sessions.
The syllabus for the CUET PG English is very similar to the UGC NET English exam, only CUET is not that deep. It includes British, American, and Indian Literature, Literary Criticism and Theory, and a bit of Cultural Studies.
Hope this helps
Hello Aspirant
Since Kashmir University is listed in the NTA CUET category, any admission, whether UG or PG, will be done based on the CUET score that you acquire in the entrance CUET PG exam.
If you see the syllabus for CUET PG English exam, it is somewhat similar to the UGC NET exam, only lesser in-depth, and it is not as vast as the latter one. I'll list some books that you can read/refer for the exam
Peter Barry's Beginning Theory
MH Abrahams's A Glossary of Literary Terms
E Albert's History of English Literature
William J Long's History of English Literature
Padmaja Ashok's Social History of England
Some help books from the exam's point of view- R Gupta and Pearson's CUET PG for English is also good, it will give you a concise knowledge of everything that is included in the syllabus
Hope this helps.
Hostel fees and salary packages after a PG Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) vary widely based on the college/university, location, and individual performance.
Generally, hostel fees range from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 1,00,000 per year. However, this can be higher in metro cities and private institutions.
Salary packages for fresh PGDCA graduates typically start from around Rs. 3 to 4 lakhs per annum, but can go up to Rs. 8-10 lakhs or more based on skills, experience, and the hiring company. Top performers from renowned institutions often command higher salaries.
hope this helps you!!
Hello Aspirant
Kashmir University comes under the CUET exam list, so you'll have to cover the syllabus for CUET PG. Books for preparations-
The Beginning Theory by Peter Barry
A Glossary of Literary Terms by MH Abrahams
History of English Literature by E Albert
History of English Literature by William J Long
These are some of the topic-specific books. Apart from these, you can take books that cover the CUET PG English syllabus by Pearson, R. Gupta. I'd prefer these books because I've read them and they are really good.
Hope this helps
Hello Aspirant
Arabic is one most widely spoken languages in the world. Doing an MA in Arabic can prove to be beneficial as it has many job opportunities like teaching, journalism, media, translation, international relations, government service, and more.
MA in Pol Sci also sounds enticing. Job opportunities for Pol Sci graduate include Civil Services, Politics, Public Opinion Analyst, Marketing Research Analyst, Corporate Manager, Journalism, Foreign Service Officer, Legal Adviser to political parties, Policy Analyst, Election and Campaign Manager, Public Relations Specialist, Bank Manager, etc.
Both the fields are promising, so what I would suggest is for you to go with dual masters, because you are open to it. If you think you can cope with the demands of both streams, go for it. But one would have to be from distance education. Now you need to decide which one that would be.
There is no reason why you can't pursue a postgraduate course in English language at the age of 55. In fact, it's a wonderful way to keep learning and expand your horizons.
Most postgraduate programs in English (like MA in English Literature, MA in Applied Linguistics) require a bachelor's degree in any discipline. However, some universities might have relaxation for mature students (above a certain age) with a relevant diploma.
Apply to universities offering MA in English or related programs. Explain your background and passion for English in your application essay. Highlight any relevant skills or experience you might have (e.g., communication skills from your engineering background).
Some universities offer postgraduate diploma or certificate programs in English specifically designed for working professionals or those seeking career change. These might be shorter and more flexible options.
Consider universities known for their English language programs, such as Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Central Universities, and reputable private universities.
Look for universities with programs offering options for distance learning or part-time studies, which can be helpful for managing your time.

It is difficult to definitively say whether you will get admission into M.Sc. Chemistry at Hyderabad University or BHU with a score of 131 in the CUET PG Entrance Exam (belonging to the EWS category).
Each Central University determines its own cut-off marks for admission into various programs based on factors like:
Since this is the first year of CUET PG, previous year's cut-off information specifically for CUET PG isn't available.Search online for news articles or forums discussing expected CUET PG cut-offs for various universities and categories. This might give you a general idea of the cut-off range for M.Sc. Chemistry programs.
While not a perfect comparison, you can look at the cut-off marks for M.Sc. Chemistry programs at Hyderabad University and BHU for previous entrance exams they conducted (like their own university entrance exams). This can give you a rough idea of the competitiveness of these programs.
