About NIE Mysore

The National Institute of Engineering, Mysore was established in 1946. NIE, Mysore is a private university affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysore's seven undergraduate programmes and three postgraduate programmes now have Tier-1 accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi.

National Institute of Engineering, Mysore offers courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. For UG admissions candidates must have passed class 12th with at least 50% marks from a recognised board also valid score in COMEDK UGET, and KCET conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority. NIE, Mysore PG admissions are offered to candidates who must hold a BE/BTech degree from a recognised board and also a valid score in GATE, and Karnataka PGCET

Admissions to PhD courses are offered to candidates who hold a Master’s degree from a recognised board. As per the NIRF Overall Report 2025, the NIE Mysore placement cell has placed 790 undergraduate and 118 postgraduate students. The highest package offered during the NIE Mysore placements 2024 was Rs 42 LPA. Saksham Scholarship

Rs.30,000 or the actual tuition fees paid, whichever is less.


Contingency allowance of Rs 2000 per month for a duration of 10 months.

Pragati Scholarship for Girls

Amount of scholarship that is a tuition fee of Rs. 30,000 or at actual, whichever is less and Rs. 2,000 per month for 10 months as incidentals each year.

This scholarship is for girl candidates who have taken admission to the diploma/degree course at AICTE approved institution/college.


The annual income of the family should not be more than Rs.8 Lakhs.
