Travancore Engineering College (TEC), Kollam, offers a systematic and merit-based admission for its engineering courses. The college sanctioned by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) includes a well-demarcated procedure for the selection through entrance examination merit as well as academic records.
This admission process by TEC generally familiarizes itself along with the dates of the Kerala Engineering Architecture & Medical (KEAM) examinations. Eligibility qualifications for admission to the B-tech programs of TEC are successful completion of 10 plus 2 or its equivalent qualification with compulsory subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
All B.Tech disciplines at TEC will admit students based on their KEAM score. All these associated applications fall under one main entry point to be used as an admission portal for engineering students aspiring for entrance to this. Applicants have to diligently advance their studies in preparation for the KEAM exam syllabus pertaining specifically to subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at the 10+2 level.
Application process
This is the process by which Travancore Engineering College takes admission from students.
1. KEAM Examination: Register and appear in the KEAM exam which will take place from 24th to the 28th of April, 2025.
2. KEAM Result: Results await declaration of the KEAM results. Indeed, the rank in KEAM is very important for admissions.
3. Counseling Registration: Register for the centralized counseling process arranged by the Commissioner for Entrance Examination, Kerala.
4. Choice Filling: Counseling is the time to fill colleges and courses preferred by candidates, including Travancore Engineering College and its B.Tech programs.
5. Seat Allotment: Based on the KEAM rank and the filled choices, seats will be allotted. If TEC is allotted a seat, then go on to the next step.
6. Document Verification: Present at Travancore Engineering College with all the necessary documents for verification. Generally, the documents required include:
7. Fee Payment: Admission seat confirmation through the payment of the stipulated admission fees.
8. College-specific Admission Process: For admission through management quota, the college will prepare a different rank list giving equal weightage to marks obtained in the KEAM and plus two Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry (or equivalent) after normalizing.
9. Final admission: Admission thus gets confirmed and finalized once all these are completed and fees deposited.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Tech: Travancore Engineering College provides four B. Tech. programs: Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The admission procedure for all B. Tech. programs is uniform and is based on KEAM scores. The entire approved intake for each of these programs adds to 195 seats, distributed as follows:
For B.Tech programs, the selection process goes through two channels:
1. Government merit seats: Allotment by the Commissioner for Entrance Examination on the basis of KEAM rank.
2. College merit seats: Filled by the management using a rank list that gives equal weightage to KEAM marks and plus two marks (in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry or equivalent) after normalization.
Hello Deepak
If you have a clear vision regarding your future that you want to become an engineer then first of all prepare for class x properly, focus on science and maths subjects .
Do not worry if you don't have mich knowledge about IT .
After class x exams are over you will have three months, you can join any course in information technology to understand basics.
To become an engineer, you must have strong base in science and mathematics subjects.
After passing class x with good score, you will have to choose science stream with PCM ( Physics, Chemistry and maths ) combination . For engineering you will have to appear for cet or Kcet . For that preparations starts from class xi itself.
You will have to appear for both class xii board and kcet ( as you belong to karnataka)
You must qualify entrance exam and must secure minimum 50% marks in class xii in pcm subjects then you can apply for engineering .
Hi aspirant,
As cut-offs changes from year to year, it is difficult to predict exactly in which Colleges you can get seat for Biotechnology branch.
Cut-offs varies from year to year and depends on many factors like number of students appeared in the exam, number of seats available, category, difficult level of the exam, etc.
For your AP EAMCET rank you have chances of getting Biotechnology branch. So, to predict Colleges you can get for your AP EAMCET rank, use below mentioned College Predictor Tool.
