JEE Main 2025 Session 2 results was out on April 19, 2025.
PU CET 2025 will be conducted on May 11, 2025.
Sanitation is not very good. Water coolers are placed just outside the washrooms. Benches are normal but are always very dusty. Labs lack good equipments. There are projectors in few Lecture Halls. The only good thing is Wifi and library where you can find all course related books and a few extra books too.`
The syllabus is out dated and will surely not make you job ready. Teachers are good. They do take pain in teaching students. Most of them make sure to complete the syllabus. But there are really bad teachers too.. they don't care about completing the syllabus. Anything they teach will go above your head. But these kind of teachers are lesser. Generally 2/6 teachers in a semester are bad.
Altough UIET is not known for it's placements but it's getting better each year. This year companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Samsung came here. The highest package offered was of 40L per annum to two students. Two students were recruited in Amazon with package of 30 lakh. In 2018 highest package offered was of 16 lakh. Average package saw a rise from 5.5 lakh in 2018 to 7 lakh in 2019.
Being a government college it's very economical. Around 80K per year. Hostel fee is lowest among many colleges only 1k per month.
UIET is situated in sector 25 of the city Beautiful- Chandigarh. One can easily visit anywhere in the city thanks to good transport. The seniors are very helpful. No ragging what so ever. North campus is very lively place, there is always some activity going on in Stu-C. The official fest goonj is not very good.
UIET is a decent college with really old infrastructure but it comes under Panjab University which is really well built.Hostels are alloted based on your rank.Library of UIET is not that good but as the college comes under Panjab University therefore you have access to AC JOSHI LIBRARY which is pretty decent.
Course content is at par with some of the most reputed IITs ,but faculty isn't capable enough to teach them correctly .But there are some exceptions everywhere , college has some very good and helpful teachers.
Placement mainly depends on your branch .If you are from CSE or IT department chances are you will be placed. For other branches placements are not that good but the college is trying its best to improve placements and in the recent years placements were pretty decent for other branches also but the average package is not good because most of the students are recruited by mass recruiters like Infosys
It seems good to me that I am here. TThe college provide all the necessary infrastructure, ffacilities and services, it has three blocks, consisting different departments, well equipped with all the necessary laboratory including WiFi facilities. All the spaces of the ares are regularly maintained.
Academic in specially core branch are not so well, students have to work hard iin their core subjects and prepare for their placement. Some of the mentors and teaching facilities are very supportive. Curriculum is updated.
The quality of placement is good, Neary about 100 companies visit every year. TThe students belong to any branch can sit in any company according to the criteria of the companies. HHis year amajon and airtel come and about 10 students got placed with a good package.
It is approximate ₹90,000 per year, which is good for engineering college.
The campus live is one of the best experiences of life, one can indulge in any type of activities sports facilities are one of the best in the country, tthe A, C, josi library which open 24*7 hour, covers almost all the necessary items for learning, s2c area famous for enjoying college activities especially party politics and romance.
infrastructure is average but the labs are maintained good . Students are provided with all the basic equipment in labs. about the library its the best library and i will give it 10 out of 10 . college students gets wifi from PU .
study is good in the institute according to me. students get many opportunities in the institute academically wise. as there mainly 5 to 6 subjects every semester in which two to three are technical and two to three are theoratical.
placements are very good in the college. students in the CSE and ECE get better job opportunities than the ME and other branches so they try to get placed in the IT based company. but other branches are also offered
the college may be a little higher here as compared to other government colleges but the placement are totally worth the fess they ask. as the growth and development they offer are very good.so it is totally value for money
campus life is really amazing. the exposure the offer is great and this whole exposure is very helpful to us through our entire life.also the fest are also offered here which very good as it is in Panjab University
UIET is present inside the south campus of Panjab University. So the campus of UIET is part of the campus of PU. UIET has only three buildings of its own, with each floor of every building dedicated to a particular B.E. branch. The buildings have become old and need renovation. Benches, boards and washrooms need urgent repair and cleanliness is not much taken care of in UIET. The library of UIET is very good but always has a shortage of books. The Wi-Fi enabled campus has good laboratories.
The syllabus of each branch is outdated. The syllabus is not industry supportive. The present industry requirements are totally different from what is taught in UIET. The quality of teaching is neither good. Teachers are not serious about studies and most of the times they remain absent. Most of the teachers are Assistant Professors or guest faculty. Very few professors are present in UIET and they are also not serious about student's well being.
The placements of Computer Science and Engineering branch are as good as that of the top NITs in India. In the year 2019-20, the highest package was of Rs 35 lakh offered by Google to two CSE students. Top companies like Google, Amazon, Airtel, Deloitte, etc. come to the campus for placements. The placements of other branches is rather low.
Being a self-financing institute, the fees of UIET is very high compared to other Institutes and Departments in PU. The fees is around Rs 1 lakh per year and it keeps on increasing year by year.
UIET is present in PU, and PU is just like heaven. A new extra-curricular activity is organised in UIET everyday. Fun is unlimited in UIET and the hostel life of PU is the best.
If one does not get admission in PEC Chandigarh, one should really prefer UIET over NITs.
College Infrastructure is average. Labs are maintained good . Students are provided with basic equipments in labs. Talking about library, it will get a 10/10 rating . College students gets PU wifi access . Projectors are availaible in classrooms . The canteen here is actually small.
Study is good as per my review. Students got several opportunities to display their academic talents. Exposure is given to students. I am an ECE student , so in ECE in every semester there are 6 subjects in which 2 or 3 are technical the other 2 are theoretical .
Mostly the IT and CSE students gets an opportunity of getting huge packages. Other branches like ECE ,EEE and ME get lesser opportunities to get jobs in the core companies of their respective branches . So , some of the students of other branches are also get placed in IT based companies .
Although, the college fee is a little more here but still the college is a value for money as the opportunities given by the research and development department is good. So , overall saying it's a value for money if college fee is a little less
Campus life is really nice. Students got a lot of exposure . Lot's of clubs are there for students to participate in different activities. Also , fests are there . Also, the students got facilities of Panjab University .
The classrooms and laboratories are average, having all the basic things required. The hostels are on the bottommost. Personally speaking , I don't like the hostels. The labs and workshops have some obsolete equipments , that do not give correct results.
I am studying B.E in Electronics and Communication . The teachers are slightly bad in the class, but clear all of your doubts , when you meet them alone. The are very helpful and supportive. Some are strict, some are lenient ,but all of them guide really very well
Generally, CSE and IT students get placed every year with a great ratio as compared to other branches. The ECE students do get placed, but many of them get placed in the IT companies, with CSE and IT students.
It is a self financed institute
I have made a lots of memories till my 4th semester and after my final year, i would be having a bunch of unforgettable moments
The college is overall good with a decent placements for the CSE ,IT students.
The college is located in Panjab University and Panjab University's campus is heaven. The infrastructure depends on the branch in which you are studying. The CSE department has the best infrastructure, with ACs, LEDs, digital boards in every lab and classroom. The building of the college has got old and needs some renovation. Cleanliness is not much taken care of. But the labs in each department have all the advance experiment apparatus. So overall, it has good infrastructure.
The curriculum is old and needs to be updated. As it is a government college, so one cannot expect much from the faculty. The teaching staff is supportive but not really serious about studies. Exams are difficult, with a much higher failure rate.
The placements have been exceptional in the past few years. Companies like Google, Amazon and Airtel have hired a number of students. The highest on-campus placement package in the academic session 2019-20 was of 36 lakhs whereas the average package was around 8 lakhs. Good companies are coming to the college and most of the students get placed. So the placements are good.
The per year fee is about Rs 1 lakh for general category students. The fees is relatively less than most of the engineering colleges in the country. Students get better facilities as compared to the college fees.
The campus life is really good.To be a part of Panjab University's campus is like heaven. Everyday, a new extracurricular activity is organised in the college. There is more focus given on holistic development rather than just academic development of students. There are atleast 10-15 college societies, each being as active as the other. The campus life is really good.
One usually hopes for getting admission in the top NITs of India but UIET is as good as NITs. Campus is good, placements are very good but the campus life is the best.
Infrastructure can be better. Also campus is not so big as it is not in main campus of PU. Other than that labs , library , workshops all are good. Hostels are available which good and affordable. They are well maintained.
Faculty for IT branch do not trouble you much for attendance. Curriculum is good but you have to do some extra study apart from that to make you job ready . All the recent developments you have to study on your own.
Placements provided there is I would say above average. There are plenty of opportunities available for IT and CSE branch other branch may struggle students getting placement. The average package is 4-5 lpa.
Being in Punjab university is a very good experience. The campus life is great. Faculty is also good and you don't have to worry much about attendance especially in IT. Great placement opportunities for IT and CSE students. Apart from that you will get plenty of time to enjoy your life here. Overall a very good experience.
Hi aspirant, as you have got 45000 OBC rank in JEE Mains so on behalf of you question wether you would get UIET Chandigarh or not so let me tell you this thing that on this rank you may get successful to get the college but this is also true that you may or may not have to sacrifice CSE or IT branch otherwise you can get other branches without any doubt for sure.
Good Luck. Thanks.
The eligibility criteria for BE to get admission into UIET Chandigarh is that candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent with at least five subjects, including Hindi, English, Punjabi, Physics, and Mathematics. Some websites do suggest the minimum percentage however, that's not official, the recommended percentage however will be to get about 90% as a safe score to get admitted.
