Admission is primarily based on the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) scores.
Figures indicate that to be competitive for a seat in the CSE program, a general category candidate with Maharashtra domicile should aim for a percentile around 97.8 in the MHT-CET.
Yes, students from all over india can get admission to VJTI Mumbai if they meet the eligibility criteria. To be eligible for the admission, candidates must have passed class 12th with a minimum of 45% aggregate from a recognised board. Hello,
You will require almost all the marks, if your choice is VJTI, Mumbai for Computer Engg. through MHT CET, since this Institute has a good reputation and admissions to this branch are relatively more in demand. An example for recent years:
General Category: You would generally score a percentile of 99.5 or more or a score of around 180-190+ of 200.
SC/ST/OBC etc. Reserved Categories: The cut off is expected to be little lower but still on high percentile round 97-98 percentile or more that means scoring 160-170+ marks.
These numbers are indicative, and they can change from year to year depending on the difficulty of the test, the total number of candidates, and competition. Targeting a high score gives more chances for admissions.
With the J&K migration quota in Maharashtra, your chances of getting into top colleges like COEP (College of Engineering Pune) and VJTI (Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute) will depend on your MHT CET percentile and the specific cutoffs for the J&K migrant category. Historically, students with percentiles above 95+ have had a strong chance of securing seats in these prestigious colleges, especially in high-demand branches like Computer Science or Electronics.
However, cutoffs can fluctuate yearly based on factors such as the number of applicants and seat availability. Given your reservation status, your eligibility for top colleges improves, but achieving a high percentile is still crucial for securing competitive branches.
Regarding the application process, yes, you must select the "J&K Migrant" category while filling out the MHT CET application form and during CAP (Centralized Admission Process) counselling. This ensures you are considered under this specific reservation category, which is designed to provide special admission benefits to students from J&K. Make sure to provide the necessary documentation during the verification process to confirm your eligibility for the quota.
hope this helps you!!

While there's no guarantee, securing admission for direct second-year Civil Engineering in VJTI or Sardar Patel College with a 77.53 diploma score and being an SC female candidate holds some possibility. Here's why:
Previous Year Cutoff Unknown: It's difficult to predict cut-offs as they vary year-to-year based on the applicant pool's strength.
Reservation Benefit: Being an SC female candidate gives you a significant advantage in the admission process due to category reservations.
Here's what you can do:
Check Previous Year Trends (if available): Search online or contact the colleges' admission offices to see if they provide information on previous year cut-offs for the SC category in direct second-year Civil Engineering.
Eligibility Criteria: Ensure you meet all other eligibility requirements like minimum marks in specific diploma subjects set by the colleges.
Stay Updated: Follow the colleges' websites or social media pages for announcements regarding application dates, cut-offs, and the admission process.
Additional Tips:
Remember, a good diploma score combined with your category reservation gives you a chance.
