Vimal Jyothi Engineering College, Kannur admission for the year 2025 is open.
The college organised a one day workshop on UI/UX design using using figma on March 20, 2025.
There is Wi-Fi access for all departments, and we have department libraries and a central library. Classrooms are neat and clean and have good ventilation. I'm a day scholar, but I have stayed in a hostel for two days, and the quality of the food is excellent. There are sick rooms in college to take rest
All the teachers have Masters, and they are really qualified to take the classes. They teach with presentations and give notes through the classroom. The course curriculum comprises general subjects in the first year and core subjects in 2 and 3 years. Lessons in our fourth year give us practical knowledge. The difficulty level is moderate, and the pass percentage is about 75%.
I'm studying computer science of engineering, and as of now approximately 60% of students were placed. The lowest package is 1.8 LPA, and the highest is 3 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Wipro, TCS, and Arbee Structures. About 40% of students have gotten internships so far.
Our college has excellent infrastructure with a peaceful atmosphere and pleasant nature. My college is situated on around 15 to 20 acres. Wi-Fi connections are available 24 hours. We have a big library with a rich collection of books
Our curriculum is prepared by the Technical University known as KTU. Our college follows the KTU syllabus and curriculum. The curriculum is average. We have to learn non-core subjects along with our core subjects, such as Chemistry, Physics, Basic Electronics and Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering, etc. Our college's first-semester exam result is around 65-68%, which is a good result among the KTU-affiliated colleges.
My college has a good placement cell which is active. There is a rule that colleges with autonomous status should provide a minimum of 50% placements to their students. However, my college provides 60 to 65% placements. Many companies like TCS, Amazon, Flipkart, and other Bengaluru and Chennai-based IT companies are offering placements. The average salary is 4.5 Lacs per year
Our department is equipped with many facilities, such as high-speed Wi-Fi facilities, and the labs have the latest PCs, most of which support Linux. All the labs are air-conditioned. The classrooms are equipped with digital facilities and smart televisions. We have a central library with a large collection of books and ample seating.
Teachers are helpful, and most of them have completed Ph.D. in their respective fields. They have excellent teaching skills and are highly proficient in English, ensuring that students enhance their skills. The course is well-structured and has strong industry relevance. However, acquiring additional skills can significantly improve placement opportunities for students. The exams are quite challenging, as they are conducted by Kalam Technical University, resulting in a pass percentage of 75%.
About 60% to 70% of students are placed in my college. The highest package is 14 LPA, the lowest is around 1.8 LPA, and the average package is 2.5 LPA. The top recruiting companies include Wipro, Arbee Structures, and Federal Bank. In my course, Cybersecurity in Computer Science, placements are yet to take place as we are still in the final year. However, internship offers have been made by Techbyheart and MIBIZ companies.
Vimal Jyothi Engineering College's infrastructure is world-class, with sleek architecture and modern facilities. The campus is lush green, with ample parking and transportation options. Labs are well-equipped, and classrooms are spacious and air-conditioned. The library is vast, with online resources and comfortable reading spaces. Sports facilities, auditorium, and hostel amenities are also top-notch. Overall, the college's infrastructure is outstanding, providing a comfortable and conducive learning environment.
I studied btech in electronics communication engineering. Our college academics are rigorous and comprehensive, with a strong emphasis on hands-on learning. Faculty are knowledgeable and supportive, encouraging students to explore innovative ideas. The curriculum is industry-oriented, preparing students for successful careers. While some areas need improvement, like library resources, overall, Vimal Jyothi Engineering College provides a solid foundation for engineering Students.
Vimal Jyothi Engineering College's placements are good, with a median salary of INR 2.46 LPA. Notable recruiters include 8V Shoes, It Perfect Solutions, and Linpack Technologies. The college offers placement support, but the placement process can be improved. Overall, it's a good option for students looking for a decent placement record in Kerala.
Infrastructure is good. On the top of a hill, surrounded by beautiful greenery. Hostel is available for both boys and girls. Wifi is not available. Unnecessary strictness is a negative. Labs and classrooms are good. Canteen and mess is also available. Food is also good. Very big ground is available for sports. But when I was studying there sports was not a big deal. Management was only concentrating in academics.
Quality of teaching is average. Many teachers when I was studying was just MTech graduated. But they are friendly. The main issue I faced was I was not getting help to understand which field to take as a job because of the curriculum.
Placement cell is available and they brings some companies. But only few percentage got job in placement. The head of placement cell is a good guy. He tries to bring companies. But as per my view they only concentrated on full A+ type students.
Cost of course per year was 80k or something. It's not that worth as per my opinion.
Campus life was average because the management was not really friendly at all. Location is safe. Some teachers are ok and helpful.
As per my view and opinion, this campus can be the best by making some small changes. Academics is important but with that they must think about extra curriculum activities like sports and festivals also. When I was in last year of my course many things changed. But still limitations was high.
