Yamuna Institute of Nursing, Yamuna Nagar Admission Process

Yamuna Institute of Nursing, Yamuna Nagar, is one of the most prominent institutes in Haryana for nursing courses. The institute has a whole and intensive process of admission in place for the sake of selecting hardworking and capable students for its various courses in nursing.

Admission process in Yamuna Institute of Nursing is undertaken annually for its three major courses: B.Sc Nursing, ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery), and GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery). Each program has a specific admission process, which is formed as per the requirement of the concerned course and the regulatory body.

Applicants who wish to take admission in ANM and GNM courses are shortlisted according to their performance in the entrance test. The institute draws a merit list as per the percentage of marks scored by the applicants, with those who have higher scores being preferred during admission.

Application Process

The Yamuna Institute of Nursing application process varies slightly depending on the program. Generally speaking, however, each of the programs shares the following steps:

1. Obtain the application form: The applicants can get the application form from the institute's official website or by visiting the campus personally.

2. Complete the application form: Complete all the required fields in the application form properly. Ensure that all academic and personal details are entered properly.

3. Attach supporting documents: Prepare and attach all the supporting documents, which are typically:

  • Passport size photographs
  • Proof of date of birth (10th class certificate)
  • Mark sheets of qualifying exams
  • Character certificate from the institution last attended
  • Medical fitness certificate
  • Caste certificate (if necessary)

4. Submit the application: Submit the filled application form along with all the necessary documents to the institute within the specified deadline.

5. Entrance test (for B.Sc Nursing): Candidates for the course in B.Sc Nursing need to appear for the Common Entrance Test (CET) held by Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak.

6. Preparation of merit list: Merit lists are prepared by the institute on the basis of CET scores for B.Sc Nursing and on marks secured in the qualifying examination for ANM and GNM courses.

7. Counseling and verification of documents: Shortlisted candidates are called for counseling and verification of documents. Original documents are verified at this stage.

8. Payment of fees: Upon successful verification and seat allocation, candidates must pay the fee as stipulated to confirm their admission.

9. Orientation: Accepted students go through an orientation program to familiarize themselves with the institute, its facilities, and the course curriculum.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Sc Nursing: B.Sc Nursing course of Yamuna Institute of Nursing has an approved strength of 40 seats. The entry procedure for this four-year degree course is done through the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak. Eligibility for admission will depend on qualifying in the CET. For 50% of the sanctioned intake under management quota seats, the following are considered in order of preference:

1. CET merit ranking by Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak.
2. Merit based on the percentage of marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English in the qualifying exam.

ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery): The ANM course has 40 seats and has a simple admission procedure. The candidates are admitted on the basis of a merit list drawn up based on the percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination. The candidates with higher marks are given preference so that the academically brightest students are admitted to the course.

GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery): With 30 seats approved for intake, the GNM course also follows a merit system of admission. As in the case of the ANM course, admissions are given on the basis of a merit list prepared from the percentage of marks obtained at the qualifying exam. The preference goes to the candidates with higher marks in the admission.
