Hello,
TNEA Eligibility Criteria Based on Nativity :
Candidates who have passed VIII, IX, X, XI and XII standard in Tamil Nadu will be eligible to apply for TNEA 2019. Such candidates nativity certificate will not be required.
Candidates whose parents are central government employees will be also eligible to apply for admission, irrespective of their nativity, provided if their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past 5 years at the time of application submission. The same has to be supported by enclosing a certificate from the employer of the parent or guardian, to that effect.
Candidates who are Tamil Nadu natives but have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI and XII class or their equivalent examination from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply. However, such candidates will have to enclose a copy of their nativity certificate only in online mode (electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate).
Candidates whose parents are employees of All India service Tamil Nadu cadre officers will also be eligible to apply.
Candidates whose parents are employees in public sector or government recognised institutions at the time of application submission in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years can also apply for admission, irrespective of their domicile. However, such candidates will have to enclose a certificate from the employer along with the application form stating that the person is a permanent employee of the form or institution along with evidence like income tax return, PF slips etc and is working in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past 5 years.
Candidates who have studied in Tamil Nadu and are Srilankan Tamil refugee can also apply however, they will be considered under open category. They will have to produce their identification certificate from the Head Quarters Tahsildar. For all those who have not registered in the refugee camp will have to submit a copy of their passport, visa and letter registered with police station.
Candidates from outside Tamil Nadu are also eligible to apply for TNEA, provided they have studied VIII, IX, X, XI and XII standard in Tamil Nadu. They do not have to disclose their nativity certificate.
Academic qualification required for TNEA 2020
Candidates should have passed in the HSC (academic) or its equivalent examination with a minimum average percentage in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 50% marks for general and 45% for BC.
