Will there be more or less student appearing for JEE mains in september 1-6 than if it were conducted normally in april? How will this affect the cutoff for NIT's?

Hello,
I feel approximately same number of students will sit in Exam that is to be conducted between1-6 September as previous years.
As the time of preparation is much more , so the marks of every student is going to rise for this reason students have to score a good amount of marks to excel in this.
Practically thinking serious aspirants will take advantage and non serious will degrade themselves even more .. and this will maintain the cutoff where it was.
