Overall Infrastructure is good equipped with A.C. and Smart-board. However, laboratories is mostly used only for final practical assessments( if required, may not be case if its projects). Regular practicals are meant to be done on personal laptops which is also true for project presentation. Library is too far to be considered as walkable distance, would be viable option only for ones bringing personal vehicles. WiFi isn't strong enough when there are too many users with the same network, would be better to use your own personal-hotspot network. Food made available in the canteen isn't hygienic enough, would rather use swiggy, zomato or other online food ordering platform, or in the best interest for your own safety, bring your own food.
Course offers 6 subjects in total where there is atleast 1 technical subject, 1 subject on Mathematical ability, 1 soft skill-based subject and 1 on economics regularly per semester. The other 2 remaining subjects can be another technical subject of lesser difficulty, a perspective building course , or a management related subject ; mostly accompanied by visiting faculty. Quality of teaching depends upon each subject:- for technical its good as long one simultaneously does a professional online course for better understanding of the contents. Same goes for one regarding based on mathematical ability. Curriculum is updated, but sometimes individual effort is much-more important.
Placement quality is moderate, mostly offered by local companies based within Goa. While the placement cell provides support and soft skill training, top-tier tech firms rarely visit. Industry exposure is improving through seminars.
It feels average to be considered value for money however individual effort is much more important. Cost per year is around 20k.
Best feature could be considered timings of classes, which is also its worst feature as classes can be cancelled at the vey last minute or could be shifted to evenings. There are Technical and cultural Events like Infofest and others for connecting with fellow peers. The faculty and support staff are supportive when it comes to events. Infofest takes place within GBS campus however when it comes to sports events, the venue concerned is GU Sports section and the university ground
It's 10 on 10 because when I first entered the college it was under construction but now I am in 2nd yr and the infrastructure is really osm..♥️♥️. In our university we have lots of building is are also good but ours is something else.
Well it's quite good compared to other colleges. Although I liked the academics. also we have to some good professor to help us and they are always available for us. And there are also great events happens.
I am not sure about this because i have not graduated yet but my I saw my senior getting placement so it's good. They are working in a good company and they sems happy after getting placed in company.
Absolutely. I charges us 20k per year which is kind of good for a middle classes students wo wanted to pursue this course. I also recommend lots of peoples to study in our college.
It's 3rd amazing place I like to spend time . Our campus is so large and it's very clean place.
That's all I wanted to convey.
Goa Business School offers a great learning environment for MSc Data Science it's campus is very big in greenary but if someone has no vehicle for them to travel from one block to another is difficult but campus is old not very up to date
Academically, there’s definitely room for improvement. The syllabus covers the basics, but it doesn’t go deep into current or industry-relevant topics, especially in a field like Data Science that’s evolving so fast. There’s very little hands-on or practical learning, and most of the teaching feels quite old-school. We rarely get real-world exposure through industry projects or collaborations. The evaluation system is very traditional, and it’s hard to stay engaged in lectures. To be honest, the curriculum and teaching methods really need an upgrade.
Placements are one of the weakest areas here. For non-engineering and general courses like ours, there are barely any companies that come to campus. The placement cell isn’t very active, and most of us have to hunt for internships and jobs on our own. There’s almost no training or prep for interviews either, which is disappointing. This area definitely needs urgent attention if the university wants to stay competitive.
One thing I will say is that the course fees are quite affordable compared to private universities. That makes education here more accessible. But because placements and academic support aren’t very strong, the return on investment really depends on how much effort you’re willing to put in on your own. If you’re self-driven, you can make it work and get value out of it, but don’t expect the university to do all the heavy lifting.
Campus life is alright – nothing too happening but not bad either. There are a few cultural like plateunica and playyon etc and academic events now and then, but they’re not very consistent or exciting. You’ll need to take the initiative if you want to make the most of student life. The environment is peaceful and friendly, which is great, but the overall vibe could definitely be better
The college infrastructure is average. Classrooms are decent and have the basic facilities required, but they are not very modern. One major issue is that the library is far from our block, which makes it difficult to visit frequently. The campus is clean and maintained well, but some buildings require renovation. Wi-Fi is available but not very strong in some areas. There are common areas for students to sit and relax, but more study-friendly spaces would be appreciated. The faculty is good but syllabus needs updates.
The academic curriculum is good and covers essential topics, but it still needs frequent updates to align with the current industry standards. The faculty is experienced and helpful, but practical exposure could be improved through more workshops and industry sessions.
I haven't explored much about placements yet, so I can't comment on that part. I don't have much information about the placement process as I haven't personally experienced it yet. However, seniors say that some companies visit the campus
The academic experience at the college is good with a well-organized syllabus.
Good
It has all the necessary facilities required but lacks security in the sense it doesn't have proper CCTV system or guards, the few guards that we have aren't really fit for the job. All the classrooms have proper air-conditioning, projectors and podiums for the best learning experience. The wifi system could be enhanced by letting us use it on our phones but is restricted to laptops only.
I'm studying Data Science since it's something that intrigues me and the teaching quality is fairly good. The Curriculum is upto date and has all the required courses in it. It does make one job ready.
Placements are not made by the college, which is one of the downsides of the subject but with all the skills acquired along the way anyone will be able to get a decent job with a little wits. It is so due to how new the subject is Goa and India.
I've spent around 20k per year which is really cheap compared to all the other tech related courses. I wouldn't know if I'm getting my money's worth since I've not yet graduated but it's fairly good.
It's best feature is probably the classroom which are really comfortable and worst would be the canteen. There aren't any activities students can perform since it's a post graduate institution. Students are really smart and kind teachers as well who are available whenever you have a doubt. It's located on the outskirts of a beach, and fairly safe one of the richest areas in Goa and very close to the best hospital in Goa as well.
The college does have infrastructure and facilities, while there are sometimes connectivity issues . Projectors are used and are maintained properly. The spaces and cleaned and hygienic. While some building in the premises need repair and update.
Currently studying data science, this course is currently in the bloom and hence the reason for choosing it .The quality of teaching is good. I think the curriculum is quite up to date but don't make one job ready .
I would consider the quality of placement a little bit low ,while I think they are improving it year by year. The average package is moderate. Since I have not come across the placement process my self , I cannot determine it as easy or difficult.
The cost of the course was comparatively low and I do think it is value for money . I do feel I am getting the money's worth but there could be improvements.
The campus life is good. The students can participate in various activities such as sports .etc
I experience of fairly good .
New buildings are well maintained, clean and hygienic with all classrooms having AC's but the old buildings are not that well maintained but does the job. Wifi connectivity is a bit issue not stable everytime.
I am currently studying MscI Data Science, joined in the year 2023. The curriculum is well updated and it gets updated for new batches every year for the past 2 years, although once you joined you will have the same syllabus till the course ends, only the new year students will have different curriculum which will be same for them throughout. The course if learned well then it does make you job ready.
Placement of the students from other courses such as MCA have been good but I have no idea about the placement of our course since this is a new course and the final year students will be passing out this year which will give us the right idea about the placement and package.
Yes our course fee per year is 21k which is very good but for the new batches the fee has been increased to 50k which is still quite good.
Campus life is extremely good there are lots of engaging events and opportunities to show your talent beyond studies.
Good it has all the necessary infrastructure facilities but not proper equipments.we have projectors podium and white board also wifi the living space is is clean but the food is unhygienic. We can't trust our canteen food
I am studying msc data science because it is trending in the market also .The teaching quality is average it contains some recent developments in the field, but it does not completely make you job ready .
For our course we have very low quality placements there no qualifying batch right now it will be next year. So cannot guess the packages ,average salary offered . Our college is supportive and friendly
17k kind of as we get to learn things which are mandatory and there are more higher fees outside.
We don't have activities which we can engage our selves during free time but we do have some great events . The students teachers staff are very supportive in nature yes it is safe and can handle emergencies
The infrastructure of the building is considerably good ,but there are some parts of the building which need renovation .The facilities such as smart boards are well maintained. The classrooms are equipped with the necessary elements and hygiene is maintained.
Currently studying data science as it has demand in the industry sector. The quality of teaching is good . The curriculum includes most of the important courses/subjects but there could be some changes made to make it job ready.
The quality of placement had not been that good , the average salary is considerably lower than what students expect. Most of the students do get placements . The could be improvement done in this field.
The course cost roughly around 20k-25k . I do think it's worth the money .
The students, teachers , support staff are helpful and supporting . The location is quiet good and safe and it can handle emergency .
Good infrastructure but frequent connectivity issues make it challenging for me as a computer science student to attend online classes, access resources and complete assignments smoothly!!! they can still be improved.
The course structure is good ad well planned, but the quality of teaching can be improved for better understanding and overall learning experience ...................................................................
The quality has declined year by year, possibly due to shifts in the market trends, affecting the consistency and overall standards over time.......................................................................
20k per year is a good amount to invest for the syllabus they are offering..............................................................................................................................................
Lot of activities happening, which enables us to develop connections as well as a personality......................................................................................................................
