There are various levels at which you can join ISRO and at various designations.
After 12th: You can get into IIST (Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology) for their Undergraduate programmes. The admission is based on JEE Advanced scores. Which means you need to have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2. You can pick any of their 4 year Bachelor programmes like B.Tech in Physical Sciences, B.Tech in Avionics and B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering, etc. Or you can also pick up their 5 year Integrated courses in Master of Science in Astronomy and AstroPhysics, Master of Technology in Earth System Science, Master of Science in Solid State Physics and Master of Science in Optical Engineering, etc.

Opportunities are amazing for academically brilliant candidates. With a CGPA of 7.5 or higher, subject to the availability of vacancies, you get placed in ISRO. Aero and Avio graduates have better prospects even outside ISRO.

After B.Tech: IIST also offers Postgraduate Programmes like:
M.Tech in Soft Computing & Machine Learning
M.Tech in RF & Microwave Engineering
M.Tech in Geo informatics
M.Tech in Optical Engineering
M.Tech in Machine Learning & Computing
M.Tech in Solid State Technology
M.Tech in VLSI & Microsystems
M.Tech in Materials Science & Technology, etc.
Opportunities depend upon ISRO Placements conducted by centralised recruitment committee. Having saod all these, if you want to join ISRO after studying at IISER, it mainly depends on the course you have taken and the opportunities at that point in time. There will be suitable opportunities for Physics stream like Technician, etc.

Hello.
With 80% in your HSC board exam you are eligible for both IISER and savitribai phule University but for getting into these both you will have to pass the entrance exam, for savitribai phule University there is university level entrance exam for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses while IISER, admission is done on the basis of KVPY or JEE advanced or their own SCB channel.
Best of luck.

Also The faculty at IISER Kolkata  is excellent and almost all branches of physics are covered there. So without thinking much you must definitely go for IISER .

All the best

Hello! Hope you are doing good

In order to get admitted in IISER in 2020, the eligibility states clearly that I0+2 or equivalent board exam must have been passed in the year 2019 or 2020. With this it is clear that, you should either get admitted in the same year of qualifying class 12th or the year after. You get one drop year.

Hope it helps. All the best

Hello! Hope you are doing good

IISER doesnt release any marks, there is absolutely no disclosure of marks and thus there are no cutoffs. You just know whether you're in or not. But according to the previous years feedback by the students, for general category atleast 90/180 was a necessity to get into any IISER. For SC category, its somewhere around 70/180.

All the best

Hello Parthib,

Hey!

To get admission in IISER Mohali for B.Tech. , a male candidate from SC Category must have a rank within 10,000 in JEE Mains Examination.

Additional cut-off criteria for marks obtained in 12th board examination is also applicable to get admission into IISER Mohali.

Hope this answer helps!

For admission to IISER through SCB, you will have to appear for an entrance examination and there is no minimum aggregate required for SCB aptitude test. If you have completed your 12th either in 2019 or 2020 in science stream, you are eligible for appearing for SCB Aptitude test. IISER Aptitudde 2020 will be held on May 31st, 2020. Now coming to KVPY Channel, you should have a valid KVPY fellowship and here too there is no minimum aggregate requirement. So if you want to take admission through KVPY or SCB, you can with our 60% aggregate in 12th.

Admission to IISER happens through 3 channels i.e. KVPY, JEE and SCB. KVPY and JEE channel Candidates need not appear for the IISER entrance exam. The entrance exam is only for Candidates who want to apply through SCB Channel. For being eligible, Candidates must score within the Category specific cut offs. And General Category Candidates applying to engineering programmes through JEE Advanced channel should have scored 75% in ther 12th and SC/ST/PWD Candidates should score a minimum aggregate of 65%. But this is only JEE Advanced criteria. There is no minimum aggregate criteria for IISER for KVPY and SCB Channels.
