Hey,

The Aptitude test is on May 31 2020.
According to the eligibility criteria, you must have completed 10+2 from science stream in 2019 or 2020. So, you are eligible.
You will get admitted to IISER through one of the three channels: KVPY, JEE- advanced, and SCB.
For eligibility via JEE advanced, you must get a rank below 10,000.

Kindly check the official link mentioned below to know more about the admission:

Hope this helps!

Dear Aspirant,

IISER is also known as the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research Aptitude Test. This year it is scheduled to happen on May 31st 2020 which is also a Sunday.

Regarding your question, the eligibility criteria of IISER states that the candidates have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with science stream to be eligible for the course. The applicants are admitted only through three channels to the course:

  1. Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) channel- If the candidate has a valid KVPY fellowship, they will be eligible to apply for the exam.
  2. Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced) of the Indian Institutes of Technology- If the candidate has secured a rank within the parameter of 10000 in the Common Rank List of JEE Advanced, the candidate is eligible to apply.
  3. State and Central Boards Channel (SCB)- If you have passed 10+2 with science, you can apply for IAT. But every board has specific marks cut-offs for entering the exam, so the candidate needs to meet that mark. These students will have to appear for the IISER Aptitude Test or IAT and get selected rather than the other two channels.

It states the subject should be science and science has two combinations- PCB and PCM. So you should have Physics and Chemistry mandatory and either Mathematics or Biology. If you have one of these combinations, you can apply for IAT. The subjects they consider for calculating your cut off are therefore as follows:

  1. Physics
  2. Chemistry
  3. Maths or Biology
  4. Language (If you have more than one, then the highest will be considered)
  5. Any other subject with the highest marks otherwise

Hope this clears your doubts. All the best!

Hello Atiya,

IISER is one of the most government istitute for research based study. The preparation can be done by firstly knowing the syllabus. Next you should know the exam pattern. Both of them can be seen by following the below link:

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/iiser-syllabus-exam-pattern

Attempt previous year question papers, solve more and more question. Consider relevant books for studying. Since the topics are of 12th level, you may considering refering class 12th and JEE/NEET books as well. Particularly for Biology, get a checklist of all topics. Try memorising as much as possible. Practising from previous year papers, will give you a rough idea about what are the more frequent topics and concepts.

Some of the sample papers can be seen by following below link;

Hope this Helps

Hello,

IISER exam is basically an aptitude test. The questions are of JEE mains level and even below that. The questions are generally conceptual.
A little practice and a string base can help you to clear this exam. For preparing for maths parts i would suggest you to start with NCERT and then move on to RD. Sharma.Dont complicate with adding more books.Just complete these two books by heart and you will sail through maths with ease.

I hope this helps.

Hey Shardul Kolekar

For getting a seat in IISER pune for an obc candidate he or she has to score about  330-460 out of 500 in JEE advanced depending on which you board you finished your 10+2.

The cutoff rank is around 8000. All these cutoffs were based on the previous years. 2020 cutoff will vary based on number of candidates, cutoff set and difficulty of the exam

hope this helped
