From 2020, AIIMS and JIPMER have been scrapped. And so if youwant to study MBBS either in AIIMS or JIPMER, you have to appear for NEET Exam. NEET is the entrance examination for admission to MBBS,BDS, Ayush and Veterinary courses across India. So to be eligible for NEET, you should have completed your 12th, passed in all subjects and secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. It is 50% for General Category, 45% for PWD and 40% for OBC,SC,ST. Now if you belong to OBC Category, the Category you belong to should be also listed in the Central OBC list. Or else you will be considered as General Category and so you have to secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. This 50% is inclusive of the Theory and Practical marks scored in Physics, Chemistry and Biology collectively. You needn't score 50% in Physics, 50% in Chemistry and 50% in Biology separately. You need an aggregate of 50% or 40% depending on your Category as an aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. And along with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, you should also have studied English as one of the core subjects in your 12th.

Hello,

As soon as the results are out, the counselling process will be held soon by nta. The first and second round is based on aiq 15% and the rest of the seats are given to the state as 85% state quota. Then the mop up round is held in which the remaining seats are provided to the students. And the last round which is institutional round gives away the last most seats remained.

Then the college merit list is updated and the admission process is started. As soon as the rounds are completely satisfied the colleges are not started.

Thank you. All the best

Hello,

A  NEET score of 652+ you have great chances of mbbs seat at  top medical colleges of your state and through 15% all india quota.

You have chances at jipmer and aiims also but the cuttoff is hard to predict as this is the first time admissios to central institutes will be done on basis of NEET score.

However as you know that cutoff changes every year depending on various factors like difficulty level of the exam questions , number of candidates appearing and the recent COVID19 crisis etc.

You can use careers360 college predictor to know the colleges you can get at your NEET score;- https://medicine.careers360.com/neet-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

Hope this helps

Shruti, JIPMER will conduct its admission for all its 249 seats through All India Counselling. Because this is the first time that JIPMER and AIIMS are conducting admissions to their Colleges based on NEET score, a definite score cannot be predicted. But given the less no.of seats and the higher competition involved, it can be told that 444 might be a tad less score. You will need atleast 525 and more. For a complete list of colleges that you may have a shot at, please use our College predictor: https://medicine.careers360.com/neet-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

Hello Srinivas,

JIPMER stands for Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research. It was a single stage medical entrance for admission into MBBS seats in two JIPMER branches , JIPMER, Puducherry (150 seats) and JIPMER, Karaikal (50 seats). After the exam a counselling process will be done for selecting candidates based on the rank. It is a 2 hour 30 min exam. For taking this exam the candidate must be an Indian or overseas citizens of India or NRIs above the age of 17 with compulsory high school education in biology or biotechnology along with physics and chemistry and should have a total aggregate of 60% or above. For reserved or PwD candidates it is 50%. But this year JIPMER's own MBBS entrance test has been discontinued and all admissions to the MBBS course at JIPMER will be made through the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) . However, JIPMER still holds entrance for postgraduate medical programmes such as MS or MD. The same was recently conducted on June 21, 2020.

Hope it helps

Hello, I guess you don't know about the this but all the colleges including jipmer and aiims are having combined test i.e neet.  It is the only national medical exam through which you can get admissions in mbbs. This has been implemented from 2020 . So there won't be any exams other than neet for medical entrance.
Thankyou.

Hello Aspirant,

See this is the first time when JIPMER is going to take admission through NEET and earlier it use to conduct it's own entrance test so it is not possible to predict the admission possibilities with the NEET score. Any college can be predicted only by previous year's cut-offs trends and as this is first time for JIPMER to conduct it's admission through NEET so we cannot predict your admission possibilities.

However you can use NEET College Predictor to predict the chances of your admission in different medical colleges :-

Hi,

From this year the admissions to JIPMER is carried out through NEET exam. A prediction is not possible since we have no previous data. This is the first time that the  admissions to JIPMER is carried through NEET. However in previous years general candidates who scored more than 50% in JIPMER exam had higher chances in getting admissions in the institute . So scoring more than 50% increase your chances. Admissions are carried through various criteria like number of seats, reservation,NEET score etc. To know more about admission process please go through the article
