West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences, Kolkata Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences (WBUAFS), Kolkata, and offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate programs in veterinary, animal, and fishery sciences. In its admission process, the candidates selected are through a competitive merit-based system to encourage the best and the deserving. Typically, admissions to WBUAFS begin in May-June that would coincide with the academic year starting in August-September. The university accepts applications by conducting different national-level entrance examinations for various programs. Process for application will undergo variation according to the programs at WBUAFS:

For B.V.Sc and Animal Husbandry:

Degree Wise Admission Process

B.V.Sc and Animal Husbandry: Admission to the program for the period of five years depends upon utilizing NEET-UG results, which are put forth by NTA. There are a total of 100 approved in-take seats for this course. Candidates must be 10+2 pass out with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

B.Tech Dairy Technology: The WBJEE is conducted for taking admission to this 4-year program. No. of approved seats is 44. Minimum eligibility is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

B.F.Sc (Bachelor of Fishery Science): Who get admission in this course is based on merit prepared following the percentage of total marks scored in Higher Secondary or equivalent examinations. The course has an approved intake of 44 students.

M.V.Sc, M.F.Sc, and M.Tech Programs: All these Master's programs now have a common form of admission. Selection is done on the basis of academic merit of the candidate (40%), performance on written test (40%), and an interview (20%). Total marks for merit list preparation is 100. The candidate must hold a relevant bachelor's degree with a minimum of 55-60% marks or equivalent CGPA.

Ph.D Programs: The pattern of securing admission in PhD is similar to that of master's programs. Admissions are based on the performance of the candidate in the following components: academic score in the master's degree (40%); written test (40%); personal interview (20%). Candidates should have a master's degree in the concerned area with a taught degree scheme of at least 55-60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
