Yes , a student from bit sindri has bagged a package of 28L from Google but it was off campus but the student had potential to join Google and so the company hired .

Honestly in bit sindri if you are from non core branch then it's better for you to approach for off campus companies because the non core placements here is weak as compared to the core placements.

For core engineering you can rely on the campus placements because all the major companies comes for placements.

There are many good IT companies that visited BIT Sindri every year.The placement records there become best day by day. Even from the 7th semester, you will be applicable for campus placements there as many good companies came here.Some of the companies visited in this college every year are  Microsoft, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Deloitte and many more and the package ranges there is between 20 to 50 LPA. In 2021-22 the highest package offered currently in december 2021 of this college is 52 LPA by Microsoft.Yes,goldman sachs will be coming this year also as from the last 5-6 years they regularly visited this campus and offered good packages to the students there based on there knowledge.

In terms of return on investment bit sindri is a very good college because on investment of 2-3L you would get a package atleast 4-5L if you are a decent student over there.

But yes this is also true that not much software companies visit the campus. Mainly bulk hiring companies like tcs, Tcs digital visit the campus for the non core branches. Core engineering has good placements as companies such as tata steel, tata motors and vedanta and some good core companies visit the campus for recruitment.

It is very hard to predict the exact date when BIT (Birsa Institute of Technology), Sindri will get INI (Institute of National Interest) status. No doubt, BIT, Sindri is well ahead of some of the NITs and IITs in terms of infrastructure and other technical aspects. Plus the 72 year old BIT Sindri deserves to -

• get converted to CFTI (Centrally Funded Technical Institute)
• get the status of INI
• may be, get converted to IIT (from BIT)

As of the latest update , on November 14, 2021 , a delegation of the BIT Sindri Alumni Association (headed by its president RK Choudhary) met Arjun Munda (Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs). The association requested the Minster to discuss with the Centre regarding upgradation of BIT Sindri to the status of INI (Source - The Telegraph (Dhanbad) Published on 14 November, 2021)

Assuming, the Minister took it on a positive note and works have already begun (to get it upgraded), by the end of 2023 or 2024, we can expect BIT Sindri, getting INI Status.

Where the average salary package are offered for about 4 to 5 lpa and the Highest package goes around 7 to 10 lpa, however all the students do not get placed, also only a few students get the top salary packages.
