Central India College of Engineering and Technology, Nagpur Admission Process

The Central India College of Engineering and Technology (CICET), Nagpur, is an eminent institute with diverse engineering courses. The college acts under the permission of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and provides its students a good environment to pursue technical education. The admission process set in place by CICET bears an acceptability of bringing in prospective students belonging to the able yet willing undergraduate student population of engineering programs. With the general timing for the procedure being in tandem with the academic calendar that conventionally opens during the months of July or August, some dates may have specific change, however, it is prudent for all prospective students to prepare well in advance in respect of an application preferably from several months back.

These undergraduate programs require eligible candidates to have passed the qualifying or equivalent examinations, i.e., 10 + 2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects. Usually, the candidates must also possess an aggregate minimum mark as may be stipulated under the college or other relevant admission authority regulations. It is assumed that admission to this college will be on the basis of merit obtained in a state-level or national-level engineering entrance test rather than by a specific separate entrance test of the college. However, students are advised to check the relevant updates on the accepted entrance exams and their cutoff scores from the college website or the admission office.

Application Process

Generally, the process of application for admission into the Central India College of Engineering and Technology, Nagpur, runs as follows:

1. Entrance Exam: For engineering admission, candidates must have taken the proper engineering entrance examination accepted by the college, which may be either state-level or a national-level examination.

2. Application Form: Eligible candidates must subsequently apply for admission in the CICET application form next to the entrance test results. This form could be available from the college website or directly from the admissions office.

3. Submission of Documents: Together with the fully filled-in application form, candidates have to submit the required documents, which may include:

  • 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates

  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • Domicile certificate (if required)
  • Recent passport-size photographs

4. Merit List: Preparation of the merit list based on entrance exam scores and any other criteria specified by the institution will be done by the institution.

5. Counselling: Such candidates will be called for a counselling session, in which they will exercise their preference on the assigned branch based on their ranking relaxation and availability of seats.

6. Fee Payment: Once the seat is allocated, the candidate needs to pay requisite fees within a specified period to confirm admission.

7. Document Verification: The college will verify original documents involved as part of finalizing admission.
