Dr BR Ambedkar PG College, Jaipur Admission Process

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar PG College, is one of the noted colleges in India, offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Its admission policy is very simple, thus allowing students from all walks of life to get admitted into their diverse programs.  Normally, the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar PG College admission process is taken up once a year in relation to an academic year starting in July or August. This process involves potential students getting admission into various courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels based on merit and available seats. 

The interested candidates are encouraged to constantly keep track of the college website or can also call the admission office for the exact dates and deadlines, as these may vary slightly every year. Undergraduate applicants are eligible to apply if they have completed their 10+2 class from a recognized board. Qualifying marks in the qualifying examination (12th standard) are the basis of admission into B.A., B.Com, and B.Sc programs. Candidates for PG programs are expected to have completed their bachelor's degree in the relevant subject from accredited universities.

Admission Process

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar PG College, Jaipur, has a simple and student-friendly admission processing system. Here is a stepwise guide of the process to apply:

1. Notification: Admission notifications are released by the college, both through its official website as well as in local newspapers. Interested candidates are advised to keep checking this notification on a continuous basis.

2. Application Form: Obtain the application form from the college campus or download it from the official website. Some programs may offer online application facilities.

3. Filling out the form: Carefully fill out the application form with precise personal and educational details. Do not leave necessary fields incomplete.

4. Attach Documents: Attach whatever papers the application form says one should have. Normally, this comprises:

  • Passport-size photographs
  • Mark sheets of qualifying examinations (10th, 12th for UG courses; Bachelor's degree for PG courses)
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Character Certificate
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Any such other relevant certificate or documents

5. Submission: Submit the completed application form with the required documents to the college admission office before the given deadline. Some courses may also allow online submission.

6. Application Fees: The general prescribed fee has to be paid for the application, and the mode of payment-cash, demand draft, or online transfer will also be specified by the college.

7. Merit List: The college, therefore, prepares and publishes merit lists in the stipulated criteria for courses. Generally, the merit lists stay posted in a notice board of the college and at the website.

8. Counseling: Candidates shortlisted may be called for a counseling session where they can choose their desired course and subjects based on their merit rank and available seats. 

9. Fee Payment: Lastly, the selected candidate needs to pay the course fees within the stipulated timeline to reserve a seat.

10. Document verification: Here, verifications of all original documents will be verified during the admission process by the institute. So make sure to take all original certificates with the photocopy of each one.

11. Attend the Orientation Program: Colleges are holding these orientation programs to make students familiar with the campus, faculty, and rules laid down by the college.

Admission Process Degree wise 

B.Sc: Three hundred seats are available for admission into B.Sc courses. Candidates are required to gain admission based on the marks obtained from the 12th standard, concentrating primarily on those students who have studied science subjects. Generally, the duration of the courses is 3 years long.

B.A.: The college accepts students into the B.A. program with an overall intake of 180 seats, based on their performance in the examination conducted during the 12th standard level. Subjects were offered through the Arts stream on the college list.

B.Com.: It has an intake of 180 seats for the B.Com program. Admission to this program is based on what a student was able to secure in the 12th standard, which is again preferable for students in the commerce stream.

M.A.: The students can pursue M.A. courses in Hindi Literature, English Literature, Sanskrit, Political Science, History, Drawing and Painting, and Geography. The intake capacity per program is 40 students. This admission is mostly granted on the basis of the securing of marks in a relevant bachelor's degree.

M.Sc.: Courses offered for M.Sc. degrees include Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Geography, Physics, and Mathematics, with 40 students in each case. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in the respective subject or a related field can also apply.
