Government College, Merta City Admission Process

Government College, Merta City, is one of the esteemed institutions in Nagaur District of Rajasthan, India, it mainly has merit-based admission processes like all other government colleges in Rajasthan. After the 12th standard results are announced, the general admissions begin, taking academic years starting around July or August. It is largely a college that offers various courses in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The admission to undergraduate programs is done on the basis of scores obtained in the qualifying examination (12th standard); postgraduate admissions are decided based on the performance of the candidates in their undergraduate degree. Though the specific cut-off marks vary every year because of the number of applicants and the number of seats available, it is always advised that candidates maintain a good academic record to secure admission. 

The basis for eligibility for admission is as follows:

  1. 10+2 pass from a recognized board for undergraduate programs

Degree wise Admission Process 

BA (Bachelor of Arts): The BA program of Government College, Merta City, is a three-year undergraduate course, and admission takes place based on merit prepared on the basis of marks obtained in 12th standard. Generally, students who have done their 10+2 in any stream (Arts, Science, or Commerce) can apply to it.

B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce): It is a three-year undergraduate program with a focus on commerce and business studies. Candidates are usually admitted based on their marks obtained in the 12th standard by merit, and preference is given to the commerce stream students generally.

B.Sc (Bachelor of Science): This course is for science students and passes for three years. The admission depends on merit based on the 12th standard marks in science. It is usually open to students who have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology in their 12th.

MA Political Science: An applicant in this two-year postgraduate program is impressed by the performance in this qualifying bachelor's degree. Students with a Political Science or allied background may receive preference.

M.Sc Zoology: Candidates getting admission in this two-year postgraduate course have usually earned their merit by getting good percent marks in the relevant bachelor's degree (B.Sc with Zoology). 

M.Com Economic Administration and Financial Management: This is also a specialized two-year postgraduate program whereby students are admitted based on their performance in B.Com or a related undergraduate degree. Selection may include consideration of marks in relevant subjects from the bachelor's degree.
