My college is not so huge compared to other colleges. But we have great facilities such as having Idea lab, Fab lab and many more which very few colleges have. We do have our own play ground as well as basketball court but we don't have a sports faculty,we students itself train ourselves. We have a library but since technology became the centre of attraction, libraries are not used by all the students. The infrastructure maybe small but this very fact has a great advantage which is we know each other very well. We share great bond with each other.
The infrastructure may not be the highlight facet of the college, but it makes up with the fact that it is situated in a very good place, at the centre of the city of Kochi. Classrooms are great and well maintained, with WiFi available. There are football, basketball and volleyball courts for sports.
Yes, a student who studied MEC (Mathematics, Economics, Commerce) in 12th can apply for some Indian defence and police jobs, but the options are limited compared to science students.
For officer-level defence jobs like NDA, PCM is usually required. But MEC students can apply for positions like soldier, airman, or administrative posts in the defence forces.
For police jobs, MEC students can apply for posts like constable, sub-inspector, clerk, or assistant, as long as they meet the physical and educational requirements.
Yes, you have a very good chance of getting into MEC, as last year's cutoffs were as low as 5172 for CSBC, and for ECE, the chances are tough, as the previous year's lowest rank was 4718, but in case of management quota, the leniency may be there so also keep them on your list.
Hello,
Lateral entry (LET) students at Model Engineering College (MEC), Thrikkakara, will need to pay a total tuition cost of around Rs 2,20,000 to finish the last three years of the B.Tech program. This comprises Rs 35,000 each semester for six semesters, plus a one-time LET enrollment fee of Rs 10,000. Upon admission, students typically need to pay approximately Rs 45,000 for tuition and entry fees, plus an extra Rs 6,000–Rs 7,000 for university-related costs like registration, examination fees, insurance, and sports fees.
If you intend to reside in the girls' hostel, the monthly hostel fee is around Rs 7,000, and a refundable caution deposit of Rs 10,000 is required upon joining. The accommodations for girls at the hostel are viewed as tidy and well-organized, providing consistent meals, sufficient security, and essential amenities. In total, considering both academic and hostel fees, the estimated cost upon admission would be approximately Rs 68,000–Rs 70,000.
Hope this helps. All the best!
