Government PG College, Jhalawar Admission Process

Government PG College, Jhalawar, is a well-known institution in Rajasthan which caters to the need of students with different undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Following a very simple admission method, the college intends to admit a large number of students in various disciplines. It aims at providing quality education to as many aspirants as possible. Government PG College, Jhalawar usually starts its admission process after the declaration of 10 + 2 results for undergraduate courses and graduation results for postgraduate courses. The college follows the time frame set for admissions by its affiliated university or by the State Higher Education Department. 

While the exact dates may differ from year to year, admissions go on from June to July, for commencing classes in August-September. Undergraduate courses are available for applicants who have completed 10+2 through any recognized board. The college boasts of recognized undergraduate courses such as BA, B.Sc (Bio Group and Maths Group), and B.Com. For admission into postgraduate programs, applicants must have studied their bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university.

Application Process 

The application process for Government PG College Jhalawar is opened for ease of all concerned. Here is a stepwise guide on the application process:

1. Notification: The college will be giving admission notification on the official website as well as on local newspapers announcing the application process.

2. Application Form: Candidates can get an application form either from the college campus or download it from the official link.

3. Form Filling: Applicants must duly fill in the application form and write their personal and academic details.

4. Document Submission: The applicants must also attach self-attested copies of the following documents along with the duly filled application form:

  • 10th and 12th mark sheets (for UG courses)
  • Graduation mark sheets (for PG courses)
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Character Certificate
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Recent passport-size photographs

5. Application Submission: Application forms duly completed together with all necessary documents must be submitted to the college admission office before the specified date.

6. Merit List: The college produces merit lists according to the performances made by the applicants in the qualifying examination.

7. Counselling: For the shortlisted candidates, counselling sessions are held whereby they will be able to choose their most suited subjects or specialization.

8. Payment of Fees: The selected candidates will pay the admission fee within the time limit to confirm their seats.

9. Document Verification: Original documents are verified during the admission process.

Admission Process Degree wise

BA (Bachelor of Arts): The college presents BA programs with an intake capacity of 800 students. Admission is conducted based on marks gained in the 10 + 2 scheme of examination. Students can choose loads of different featured subjects offered by the college.

B.Sc Bio Group: The program has an approved capacity of 140. Those who have studied Biology, Physics, and Chemistry in their 10 + 2 scheme of examination can apply. Admission is generally on the basis of merit determined by marks obtained in these subjects.

B.Sc Maths Group: With an approved intake capacity of 70 students, this program can be pursued by students who had Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in their 10 + 2. The admission procedure also considers the marks obtained in these subjects.

B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce): The university admits 80 students to the B.Com program. Those eligible to apply are the students who have completed their 10+2 with Commerce or its equivalent subjects.

MA: The college offers MA in different subjects such as Political Science, Urdu, History, Sociology, Sanskrit, Geography, English Literature, and Hindi Literature. Each offer has an approved intake of 60 students. Admission is made based on the marks obtained in the respective bachelor's degree.

The college offers M.Com in Accountancy and Business Statistics, Economic Administration and Financial Management, and Business Administration. Each program has a capacity of 60 students. The students who have a B.Com degree can apply.

M Sc: There are post-graduate programs in science in Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology, with an approved intake of 30 students each. Admissions are based on the marks obtained in a relevant bachelor's degree.
