Government PG College, Tonk Admission Process

Government PG College, Tonk, and is one of the oldest and largest colleges in the Tonk district of Rajasthan. Admission to the college is based on merit in accordance with certain policies of the higher education department of the state. Each year, the admission procedures at Government PG College, Tonk, for the academic session, usually commence during the months of August-September. In view of that, prospective candidates are advised to be in the know of the application deadlines and procedures by frequently visiting the college's official website or paying a visit to the admissions office. Admissions to the college are based on a combination of merit and reservation-quota policies.

The eligibility criteria regarding admission depend on the level of the course. Undergraduate courses require the student to have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognized board. Degree wise Admission Process

BA (Bachelor of Arts): A full-fledged BA program is offered. Admissions, therefore, shall be based on the plus-two marks of the candidate with due consideration of subjects taken in senior secondary school.

B.Sc (Bachelor of Science): Students who complete their ten plus two with science subjects are eligible to apply for the B.Sc program. Admission can be based on a merit list created on the basis of the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce): Admission to the B.Com program is open to students who have completed their 10+2 with commerce or equivalent subjects. The selection is typically based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination.

M.Sc (Master of Science): The college offers M.Sc programs in Chemistry and Mathematics. Admission to these programs is generally based on the candidate's performance in their bachelor's degree and may involve an entrance test or interview.

MA (Master of Arts): Government PG College, Tonk provides MA programs in various subjects including Hindi, History, Urdu, Economics, Political Science, Geography, Drawing and Painting, and Public Administration. Admission to these programs usually require a bachelor's degree in the relevant subject or a related field.

M.Com (Master of Commerce): The college offers M.Com in Accounts and Business Statistics. Admissions are offered on the basis of merit in the B.Com or its equivalent examinations.

Ph.D Programs: The college has provided for doctoral programs in Hindi, Urdu, Economics, Drawing and Painting, Geography, Chemistry, Mathematics, and History. In these programs, the admission is based on a combination of the candidate's postgraduate qualifications and research proposal, along with the rigorous entrance and/or interview process.
